I'm not here to throw brickbats at the post game event. The event and coverage speak for itself. https://www.detroitnews.com/story/sports...603742007/

There will be both a legal and B1G thing to adjudicate.

Couple thoughts:

1) What will happen with the MSU players involved?

2). What will happen with the team? I assume the chance of the Spartans make 6 - 6 is very slim. Hence, there most likely won't be a bowl bid to decline.

MSU is a team which is reeling. I can't remember a team literally implode the way the Spartans have this year.

Cooper had two better than average seasons at EMU and cashed in on them. Tucker did the same.
UofM is not innocent in this, all those volunteers, cops, and stadium workers and no one can get a team off the field? twice in two weeks? Maybe this game moves back to noon.

I'm not going to defend the MSU players, their behavior was deplorable.

Still this is a problem that U-M has to take a lot of ownership for. The Big House uncommonly has only one tunnel for both teams to enter and exit. There was a similar problem two weeks ago with Penn State and coach Franklin pointed out the problem with the common tunnel. So, did Blue ramp up security to keep the teams separated in an in-state rivalry game? Apparently not, and a common issue in consecutive home games leads me to blame them as well for what happened.

Mel is a genius. He held out for the big money contract and when MSU could not find anyone else, they capitulated. Then he had the "great year at precisely the right time" in 2021. His incredible turnaround put his name in the mix for both NFL and higher profile college jobs. So, Matt Ishbia offered his United Wholesale Mortage money to give Tucker a TEN YEAR $95M contract!

Mel built that 2021 team with 20 guys procured from the transfer portal, Kenneth Walker being the most notable. In 2022, however, MSU got only 8 guys from the portal and sans an overtime win would be winless in the B1G. Coach Tucker, however, has a very stable financial future.

For MSU and its boosters: "A fool and his (their) money are soon parted..."

Poor Ed Ogeron only got 17.1M to take a hike. Mel will get multiples of that to walk some day.

The good thing for us Michigan taxpayers is that Ishbia is picking up the tab for those ten years of contract money as LSU boosters did for Ed after one magical year as well.

The insanity here is that MAC schools attempt similar things with longer than necessary contract extensions as well. I remember seeing Nate Oats interviewed after Buffalo had "locked him in" with a lucrative (by MAC terms) contract extension. Of course, that "lock" was soon destroyed when Alabama came calling with SEC money.

The tragedy here as I see it, is there is a whole lot of ineffective MAC and similar G5 coaches who can "mail it in" for years past their effective expiration date from student fees and the University budget.
Suspension went from 4 to 8. 04-jawdrop

Ishbia shelled out money for EMU Basketball as well. United Wholesale Mortgage was the primary corporate sponsor of the Golf Outing- which was minimum $20,000.

Should be permanent expulsion rather than suspension, if not criminal charges altogether. That was a disgusting thing to see, and I believe Green suffered concussion while McBurrows suffered broken nose.
