I may be over speculating and reading to much into it but I thought it is worth a mention. I was just reading an article that James Brown, a 4 star class of 2024 6'9" Center from St. Rita(Chicago) has made cuts to his college list and revealed his top ten which is Howard, Illinois, Wisconsin, Michigan State, Notre Dame, Duke, Iowa, Missouri, North Carolina and Eastern Michigan.

I don't think I have ever seen a MAC school make the final 10 schools of a 4 star recruit before and if Stan Heath is making inroads to hight profile recruits, EMU maybe the elite team team of the MAC before we know it.

Am I saying that EMU is going to pluck 4 or 5 star recruits easily? No, but if Heath stays long enough, you can see better quality of players playing at EMU than you would see play for the rest of the MAC teams. He already made inroads by getting that transfer from Memphis(Which by the way, are there any updated of Emoni Bates recent trouble?). We will see if is sustainable or just a novelty.
Sorry for the double past, can a Mod delete? Thanks!

NILAW is good about that. And, if you don’t watch out, he’ll delete you too.

I brought this up a couple days ago with a buddy of mine who is pretty connected to chicago hs basketball and he thinks he's still considering EMU because of Bates. He said the two of them have played together in the past in something or another (I honestly forget where it was) and he's heard there is a friendship among the two.

Ah, then that makes more sense now. I never thought of that angle considering the class difference, Bates is a Sophomore at EMU and Brown is a Jr.at St.Rita HS. Plus they are from different states,
Thanks for the info.
Bates reclassed and is really a Freshman-2 year age difference. Today is his court date and before the end of the day we should know if any charges will be formally filed.
