Im not betting the point spread. -7 sounds right in my heart but wrong in my head. We havent won a close game in some time.

In a certain world I could see a blowout like WMU ended up being in 2021. The D line finally gets an OL matchup it likes and stifles CMU. Toledo doesnt turn it over and wins 31-10

This is probably more like a 24-21 type game either way. I bet CMU under 24.5. Weather should be beautiful in the mid 60s at kickoff.
I feel like the season hinges on this game and I can't go to the dark side...Sticking with my heart for another week.....Rockets find some O and the D does what the D does.

Rockets 30
Chips 17
BIG say to the winner of this game in the MAC WEST. Winner becomes favorite to win.
34-30 CMU.
Another Candle 4Q flub up.
An important matchup to say the least, where the winning doesn't necessarily mean you're the frontrunner, but a game you certainly don't want to lose. The Chippewas are living large offensively, averaging 302 yds passing and 144 yds rushing per game. While their defense has been stingy against the run, they're pass defense has been leaking like a siv. It looks like it will be up to Toledo's front seven, to muck up Central's backfield and pressure their qb, which is something they are very capable of doing. I'm not sure if Finn's ankle is having any lingering effects from last week. We will hope not. I like the progress, albeit slow, with the offensive line and the lack of penalties. I also like a decent home crowd, decent weather, and homecoming weekend. Rockets squeak this one out, 31-24.
I've watched every painful minute of this season. D keeps it close, but we can't run the ball. CMU rolls 28-17

Toledo defense gives up 50 yards less per game than Central, and that includes the OSU debacle of +700 yds, but also includes softies UMass and LIU. CMU gains 60+ yards/game on offense vs. Toledo. Central took Oklahoma St. to task 58-44 after being down 51-14. Likely Okie St. took the foot off the pedal and allowed CMU to make it look close. It was 58-28 when Central scored 2 TD's in the last 7 minutes of the game. CMU outgained OSU 546-531. They also lost to Penn State by a respectable 33-14. Okla State was ranked 12th, and Penn State 14th. It was 21-14 at the half and 14-14 with 6 minutes left in the first half. PSU scored the final 19 points of the game including missing 2 PAT's. Gained 363 against PSU and gave up 403. Also lost to South Alabama 38-24, but were outgained 502-348. CMU was down 38-10 in the 4th and scored the last 2 TDs of the game to make it look close. Also means Toledo better not start putting on the brakes if they get a decent lead. Only gave up 174 yrds to Bucknell. CMU didn't score until 4:37 left in the 1st half.

I'm thinking CMU wins this game effectively ending the season. If that happens, I don't seen them going undefeated after that to crawl back into contention. Puts more doubt on beating BG as well. Another wasted year will be on the books.

The offset to that is Finn plays out of his mind against the team he committed to, then changed his mind to go to Toledo. Will he have more incentive than CMU after he dropped his verbal to become a Chip?

Glad the Rockets proved me wrong and suddenly found a running game. Would have liked more of the first half offensive efficiency displayed in the second half. It was like a different team in the second half. I think Finn still has pass options when he tucks and runs. We have the luxury in seeing the field from the stands, but he was late or missed wide open recievers by not going through his reads and pulling the trigger quick enough. He about got Blanksee (sp?) Killed on his flip catch and the running back was wide open to the left with nobody within a zip code of him.

Missed FG's have already hurt us this season and mark my words, will bite us I'm the ass again. Not much confidence outside 30 yds. Loved the defensive stats in only allowing 33 yds rushing. That was awesome!

Finn is a dynamic player because of his ability to run. I think just the opposite, when the run is there take it….. every time he does, it stresses the defense and will open up the downfield pass… I like it when they roll him out on a run/pass option more than him standing in the pocket.. I get that you are probably concerned with him getting hurt… I’m not sure we could win a game without him. But we just have to roll with what gives us the best chance to win and his dual threat abilities is at an elite level that need to be used to exploit defenses
I think his passing is developing. Still needs a lot of work, though. The wind yesterday, of course, didn't help. Have to say, though, I've seen quite a number of times where he has put the ball there and the receivers couldn't hang on. Now, sometimes they had a defender all over them, but the ball was still on the numbers. Other times, wide open, the ball on the numbers, and dropped. Don't know if Boone was dinged or what, but he has good hands. He doesn't seem to have a great burst as a RB, but he seems to offer a reliable passing option. Haven't noticed how well he blocks. Use him intelligently and I think he could be an effective asset.
