Yeah… I stopped short of suggesting it as an “official rule” but would definitely recommend it for study by the “rules committee” 03-wink
Winning this game will put us at 4-1 (3-0 in conference) going into the Houston matchup in the Liberty Bowl, a game that will be on on national TV (ESPN2) with a 6:30PM kickoff under the lights and also marks the last time we play the Coogs for the foreseeable future.

As long as Temple doesn't pull an upset, Houston has a big storm coming to end the American series against Memphis.

I expect a fun Finale.

.

Rooting for Temple to play well in this game, whether they win or lose.

Temple's D is good enough to keep them in the game if the O can put some points on the board.

Temple's main hope for improvement on offense is the development of a better QB scheme, with QP being a much-needed dual threat, and the general improvement of Temple's QBs, resulting from having a few games under their belt.

Actually, it is the Owls O-line that needs to step-up. Our running game has been ineffective, and they also have failed to provide a clean pocket for the QB's.

Fred, from what I've heard the Owls O-line isn't likely to have the horses capable of stepping up. As I understand it, Temple's only hope is for their OC to come up with some adjustments that don't rely too heavily on TU's offensive line. Don't know the details, but apparently, they need to do some more ingenious or creative play-calling, to throw off the defense.

Apparently, thus far, Temple's play-calling has been far too predictable and easy to defend against, given the weaknesses of TU's O-line. The question is whether or not that will be realized and whether changes to the strategy will be made.

Looking past Temple cost y’all last year. Looks like the same thing happening this year.

Trick plays or razzle dazzle will only get you so far. The OL and protection needs to get better. Whether thats better technique or added blockers is on the coaching staff to figure out.

Nice !! Tastes like chicken !!
Score prediction:

Memphis 20
Temple 14

triple overtime thriller.
We're a 20 point favorite, despite the bravado of Owl fans.
I think this one is close. 34-31 Tigers. We are very average.

Temple is not scoring 31 points. If its close it will be 17-13.

Yeah I agree, weird post. Like what bravado? And who says bravado? And what does a point spread, referenced in the first half of the sentence, have to do with the second part? Also, its an 18.5 point spread, but go ahead and round up if it makes you feel better. Just remember: y’all were double digit favorites last year; you were better last year; we were worse last year; and we still won.
Temple has played MEMPHIS very tough the past few years, so I seriously doubt the TIGERS are overlooking the Owls at all. Temple's defense simply gives MEMPHIS fits.

I think the game today will be the usual low scoring affair.

52 degrees now in MEMPHIS but will be sunny and about 68 at kickoff. Perfect football weather.
I had a dream we won 64-0. So now we're probably gonna lose.
