The guy from Rice you interviewed this week seemed very dismissive of UAB and kind of condescending.
What I got from the Rice guy is that McCaffrey is the best and fastest player in the history of college football and UAB has no chance in this game. Did I miss anything?
I completely agree that Rice is much improved and their coaches have devised good plans against the Blazers the last two years.

What I also know is that UAB played the worst game of the Return last year in Bham in many ways. It was the culmination of literally everything wrong. Rewatched it this week — just sickening. Turnover on the 1st offensive play, ridiculous penalties at the worst times, TD Marshall’s awful injury, so many things. And the Blazers still should have won.

I watched Rice vs Louisiana and Houston. Without a doubt they are a much improved team. But I agree with Darion’s analysis. If the Blazers play a clean game, they should take care of business here.

He didnt give away anything, its what we have been doing since he has been here.
I do not think the passing game is proven to be regressing. We were up 21-0 on A&M before people settled into their seats and there was not much reason to throw it. Liberty was in the rain, we got off to a great start running the ball and then got pulled into Liberty’s style and had some issues with protection when behind the chains. The game plan was clearly to run vs Georgia Southern. I agree timing is a little off with receivers but I don’t think we have enough sample size yet to judge the true health or scheme.

Rice game should tell us a lot more because I expect they will load up the box and dare us to beat those corners they feel are capable of covering our receivers. Last time they tried that, Rudolph and Mitchell ate their lunch.
UAB beat BYU in the rain and had great success in the running and passing game.
I thought his evaluation was pretty fair.
If we beat a team on the road last year, got much better and had them at home this year, I think we'd be pretty confident.

As far as the passing game, I also don't think it has regressed...I just don't think it was very good to start with. I've always felt like the BYU game was an aberration

UAB also jumped out front by two scores and didn’t fumble four times and played the game at its pace. None of that happened at Liberty

That makes sense but Rice’s win at UAB was also an aberration. We should have a great chance to win again but the Blazers are rightfully Road favorites this week.

We do have some special talent though at WR and these guys have been fun to watch.

I like Bartlett, he’s very pro-Rice, sometimes even more than most fans 03-wink
