Nicholls - On September 7, Nicholls and Thibodaux Regional Health System announced a new partnership for use of athletic facilities. The facilites include the $5M Thibodaux Regional Sports Complex. The 12 acre complex includes the following.
  • Multi-purpose Field and Track facility (Football and Soccer striping; 8 lane track
  • Tennis Courts - 12 outdoor courts
  • Beach Volleyball courts - 12 sand courts
In addition, the facility includes outdoor basketball courts and a recreational pond.

According to the schedule, all 2022 Nicholls women's soccer home matches are scheduled at the facility.

McNeese -
Cowboy Stadium:
  • Night games will be back for the 2022 season. Damaged lighting has been replaced.
  • The pressbox has been demolished. A redesigned pressbox is scheduled for the 2023 season.
Several other campus improvements are ongoing or planned. Much of the ongoing construction is recovery from significant hurricane damage.

Northwestern State

Plans are for a sports performance complex extension to the pre-existing football stadium field house. Below are some of the planned features for Phase I of the project.
  • 11,600 square foot weight room with space for more than 100 student-athletes
  • 25 foot artificial turf pad
  • nutrition center
  • student-athlete lounge
  • offices for strength and conditioning staff
The complex is still in the fund raising phase, and has attracted several large donations to date including a $1.5M, the "...single -largest private donation in Northwestern State athletics history". Estimated cost of the project is $9.5M. To date, the state has provided $8M in funding with almost $2M from private donations.

HCU
Baseball Indoor Training Facility

HCU (formerly HBU) started work on a 7,200 sqft indoor training facility at the baseball stadium earlier this month. It's phase one of an upgrade project for the stadium. The training facility will have a weight room only for baseball and 3 hitting cages including mult-purpose turf.

Lamar
Provost Umphrey Stadium

Lamar announced improvements to its football stadium. Improvements includie a new video board and a new sound system for the stadium. The new video board will measure 76'6" by 35'2 with more than 2,700 sqft of LED lighting.

The upgrade replaces a 51' X 26' video board housed in an 88' X 48' outer frame which was installed in 2009 during a major stadium renovation.
McNeese
Cowboy Stadium

McNeese breaks ground on $31M football stadium pressbox. The pressbox replaces and upgrades one destroyed by Hurricanes Laura and Delta in 2020.
