I have no idea if anyone is missing or if there are any new names of note. That's for Walt (and others) to chime in on. Just passing on the link.
Looks right. The four transfers are all there.
You think we be more competitive relative to last year?

Impossible to say at this point. I think it will all depend on the pitching. Chandler going pro hurt. If both Brogdon and Caleb Matthews are fully healthy we might have a chance to improve. Bullpen should be better with the transfers coming in. Offense could be better IF: (1) the first year guys (Smigelski, Gallo, Reidel, Garza) continue to improve, and Duffield can provide the power right-handed bat that we lost with Bulman graduating.
BTW, contrary to what someone had posted in another thread a while ago, LHP William Burbank is NOT on the current roster. It would have been nice to have him, but I had thought I read a post on LinkedIn saying that he had accepted a job in the financial services industry. So we lost our two best left-handed pitchers in Burbank and Shaw.

Consequently, at this point, assuming everyone is healthy, my guess is our weekend rotation will be Brogdon, Smith and Stratton.
Hopefully we can pickup some more pitching help heading into spring semester. Looks awfully thin right now.

The bullpen got reinforcement via the transfer portal, but not the starting rotation. We desperately need the new pitching coach to find a remedy for Micah Davis mental issues and wildness. He has Friday night ace stuff if he can ever start throwing strikes consistently in competitive games.
Interesting pickup in the portal for you guys with Hayden Durke. When Durke is on he might have some of the nastiest stuff in the country, unfortunately he has not been able to consistently throw strikes. His command has been awful and when he gets down on himself it only goes south from there. We had been waiting for 2 seasons for Hayden to show the ability that we know he has and he just could not put it together. He had streaks where you could see how good he was and then he would just be unable to throw the ball over the plate.

Again, when he is on, watch out. I hope you guys het the Durke that everyone expected out of HS, but be ready for the ups and downs of Hayden Durke.

Yup, and we already have our own Durke entering his 3rd year, Micah Davis. Friday ace material with dominant stuff, but has yet to get over the mental obstacles of throwing strikes. If the new pitching coach can get through to these two guys we could be in business....but that's a big IF.

Sounds like he'll fit right in. Owls have had several of those in recent history.

Hopefully the new pitching coach will actually do some coaching.

I guess the good news is that he only had one start, and it was an awful one at that. Again, this kid can be special, but he has not put it together as of yet. People on our board are completely split with him, many of them know the Durke family as they are from the Lafayette area and others said good riddance, apparently their may have been other factors, just rumors about his dad at the games and some of the things that were said. I never personally heard or saw his dad at games, so I can not comment on it. What I do know in my many years of watching baseball, is this kids stuff is special, but his maturity and command are issues.

Good luck, I always enjoy playing you guys and hope we can continue our baseball matchups. We are getting the better of you right now, but you guys have such a rich history, I would assume you will get back to where you once were.

Also good luck on the football season, just not this weekend.
