I was checking out JMU's and thought while I'm at it I might as well make a week 2 post on everyone's. Last week was a little disappointing for JMU not selling out the first FBS home game. This week I was pleasantly surprised to see how full it was for an FCS team on a day calling for rain most of the game. Reserved seats are sold out for our next home game(Texas State) and I don't know how many general admission remain. The next, Marshall, is completely sold out.

I think Louisiana fans mentioned they expected rain to be a problem this week as well. Georgia State a little disappointing for hosting a P5. Impressive crowd for Troy.

Norfolk State at JMU: 23,928(96% of 24,877)
UNC at GSU: 17,687(71% of 25,000)
EMU at UL: 15,352(37% of 41,426)
Alabama A&M at Troy: 26,189(87% of 30,000)
FIU at Texas State: 18,757(63% of 30,000)
Nicholls at ULM: 13,536(44% of 30,427)
Gardner-Webb at Coastal: 12,261(58% of 21,000)
Disappointed in GSU for almost 18,000 in attendance? On the contrary, you should look at their old Georgia Dome days. They've come a long way for a young startup.

They haosted a regional P5. Should have been nearly packed just for that. They actually have a good team, which should make it a sellout.
Progress is progress

G State has a new basketball arena and football is ticking up. NFL cities are fickle with so many options for spending your mad money.
First time I’ve ever been happy to see a low attendance number for us.

Having as few witnesses to that shameful showing as possible is a good thing.

Wasn’t a Coastal guy taking some backhanded shots at our attendance last week?
Can't believe there are as many words of...eh, "encouragement," I guess...as there are negative comments about ours. It really is a new Sun Belt!

You're all correct, by the way. When I got to see the "home" side on Saturday, there's definitely a part of me that was relieved to see as many people as I did. With that said...man we should be doing better at this point. I'm a guy who likes to believe in the best in people, but I'm starting to suspect that the negative views of ADCC held by Panama and others more in the know than I am hold a lot of truth.

Hard for me to say too much, however, as I'm 800 miles away and won't be a butt in a seat (man I hate that term) all season, except for the game at Army.
Pretty good attendance for Troy, despite having rain most of the day
TXST has had much better numbers in the past for the home opener but not surprised with recent history. The good news was students showed up well. Now to win back alumni and local fans.

The mere threat for any rain was going to be enough for folks to skip a game that was already a really tough sell. We are very much a "who are we playing?" school. Apparently the football team decided to take the day off as well. What a ****show all around.

After both schools' showing last week, Buffalo won't be highly attractive either. Georgia Southern will be close to capacity if not sold out for conference play.
Except for a few P-5 schools, college football attendance has fallen off in recent years. So many games are televised and streamed and it's so much easier to stay home and watch games on big screen television sets. I still enjoy going out to the home games and fighting the crowds entering and exiting the stadium. Plus, tailgating parties are still fun.

You should go back and re-read the thread real closely that you’re referencing.

Multiple coastal fans (including myself) were very open about us not being where we needed to be as a program with attendance.
That TXST attendance has to be tickets sold, not butts in seats. I saw pictures. No way 18K+ were there.

Yeah we were in the same boat, I was afraid it might be a pretty weak crowd with the opponent and the rain. I was very glad to see how full it was when I got there. Once the rain got pretty heavy the game was already out of hand so it cleared a lot of people out at that point but that doesn't bother me unless it's still a game.

Texas State will sell out, Marshall's sold out. We'll see how the end of year games go.
We had 102,780 in attendance at our game

Yep, we read (and recall) what you wrote. 07-coffee3

Nice try at spinning left-handed compliments.
Most Cajun fans strongly question the 15K that was announced. Not that it is anything to beat our chest over but many believe, myself included, we had 20K.

That's strange, why would they under report? FCS teams do that in the playoffs because then they don't have to pay the NCAA as much, is there a reason an FBS team would do that in the regular season?

The beauty of the internet is you can go back and re-read.

I stand by 100% of every single word I said in that thread.
