CMU defense is just getting shredded by a school called USA. Apparently they are an FBS school though.

13-7 USA
The Sun Belt passed the MAC years ago and the MAC is always in the conversation for worst FBS conference every season. Looks like that will be the case again this season.

When the MAC stinks every season OOC it certainly diminishes the value of being called the MAC champion. The only way to change that is to win more OOC games.
There are a ton of empty seats at Vanderbilt for playing a ranked opponent.

So you personally have never heard of the University of South Alabama, many of their fans probably don't know if we're NIU or UNI. They have an outstanding baseball stadium and are quite competitive in a number of sports so I'll never understand why we have fans who insist on taking shots at programs they are not familiar with.

It's not taking a shot if you've never heard of them. I can't keep up with all the FCS callups in SBC and CUSA. They have literally had a football program since only 2009, according to Wikipedia. I'm sure many people have never heard of them.
CMU down by 21 at the half.
Texas needs to score some TDs and stop settling for FGs. Alabama hasn't done much offensively against this Texas D.

Hope Texas wins.
Is now too soon to go back to the convo about Lew Nichols not being special? He had a great line. Not so much anymore.
Just need Texas to eat up the clock running the ball and make a FG for a win.
Texas blew it big time. Their defender whiffed on a sack of the Alabama QB. Too bad.

CMU just gave up another TD. First score in the 2nd half between both teams.

38-10 USA
And Toledo keeps playing the powder puffs.
Notre Dame losing to Marshall at halftime.

Everyone always seems to want to believe Notre Dame is better than they actually are. They should fall out of the top 25 if they go 0-2.

I bet BIG on Bama as a safe, easy $ maker. I almost didn't live to see the NIU game....
Memphis still not giving Ducker any carries. He must be 3rd string because two other RBs have carries so far.
EIU also plays at 6pm.

Curious to see how they look against FCS competition.
This Ball St and WMU game going back and forth.

Now 30-29 BSU.

I think most of our fans get annoyed when people say they never heard of NIU. Seems like a slight in most aspects. I’m guessing you don’t keep up with college football too diligently. There haven’t been that many call ups to not be able to remember the teams. South Alabama hasn’t been a household name but we did play a bowl game in Mobile which is where they’re located. It’s ok to not know a team very well but just say you don’t follow very closely instead of slighting them.

I don't take offense. Everywhere I go people have heard of NIU. I've spent 13 years away from Illinois and when people see my NIU gear they comment on how good our football program is.

I keep up with college football probably more than most but the SBC and CUSA is literally littered with FCS callups from last 10 years.

You know that bowl game we played in Mobile was before USA even had a football program?

No. South Alabama was an FCS program in 2009. They went FBS in 2012. We played the GoDaddy Bowl at South Alabama’s home stadium, Ladd-Peebles, in 2012. Which was also the last time we won a bowl game.
