Did anyone notice multiple players during the Mars Hill game wearing the same number? You had #9 Will Huzzie on offense and #9 Mike Price playing defense. Or #’s 7 Bryson Irby (offense) and Quinn Smith (defense).

I knew they did that for practice squad players, but to have 2 players with the same number in the same game was weird. For a minute, I thought Will Huzzie was playing both ways. But I didn’t know you could have 2 players with the same number both getting minutes in the same game.
Many teams have dressed more than 100 players for a game, making duplicate numbers a necessity.

By rule, players using same number must play different positions and are never allowed to be on the field together during any single play including kicking plays. Also, no more than two players can share a number.
Thanks for the explanation. I didn’t know they could do that.
