Still way too early to tell. One this is for sure, the culture certainly seems to be a lot better in particular how it relates to what most recruits seem to want these days. This staff is much more media friendly, etc... than Patterson was which many kids seem to want the spotlight and I guess I am assuming also in the era of NIL a staff that holds back media access can probably have negative impacts on a kids potential brand.
Colorado is awful, so it is really hard to get many takeaways from the game. The offense was not good in the 1st half and much of the play calling looked like the same old crap we put up with over the past few years. First impressions of the defense were good; although, were pretty conservative rushing 3 most of the game. Against more lethal offenses TCU won't be able to get away with rushing only 3 as many Big 12 QBs will pick apart just about any defense if given forever to throw.

I hate to admit it (because I loved GP), but the culture of the team seems light years better than it was, so the change was needed.
I'm a little hesitant on the offense. Dykes is known for good offense, but that first half against Colorado has me worried. I was hoping for more out of Morris before he got injured - he just seemed confused and not really in command of the game.
The SMU game will tell us a lot about what to expect this season. They will be up to play us more than they usually are since we stole their coach. We win that one and I'll feel much better about how the season will go.
