I heard a woman was kidnapped off the campus of the University of Memphis. She has not been found but her alleged attacker was an ex convict who isn't talking. This is disturbing news that even college campuses are no longer safe.

I remember two years ago being on Tarleton State campus and noticed students packing. I wish one of them would have been in ear shot of that woman the day this happened. It just goes to show how unsafe this country is becoming led by lawless Regressive Democrats.

Is there more to the story as I get little news about Memphis or Tennessee for that matter?
She wasn’t technically kidnapped from the campus but close. Tragic story and I hope they hang him from the tallest tree they can find in Shelby Co
It is a horrific story, I still hope and pray she will be returned to her family unharmed but unfortunately doesn't look good the longer it goes on without locating her.

He can bond out for 50k, pathetic.

Considering he was seen cleaning out his vehicle and washing blood off his clothes in a sink I doubt she's alive. Fortunately he'll have to come up with a whole 50k for bail. That's sarcasm btw. Thanks to leftist prosecutors these animals can all but get away with this crap.

Thanks loons.

Where was she kidnapped? News person said she was jogging so I assume it was broad daylight.

4:30am. Yes 4:30 in the morning. Central and Zach Curlin right by campus.
Wow, the last time I saw 4:30 was back in East Texas working Dairy Farms.

Violence is urban areas is on the uptick.

Lord, help that man if she was my wife.
She’s heiress to Orgill, the billion dollar hardware business.
It doesn't look good.
Early Friday morning she jogged from her home in Central Gardens east on Central, assuming on the north side of the street running against traffic.

At 4:30 am she was abducted on camera near the intersection of Central and Zach Curlin at the UofM. There was a struggle and the assailant forced her into the passenger side of the SUV he was driving.

He apparently had passed her, pulled into a parking lot on campus, and waited for her to get to his location.

Once there he ran to her and abducted her. He was wearing slides and came out of them leaving them at the scene. The police found DNA on the slides and matched it to him. He was arrested in 2000 for kidnapping a man and forcing him to withdraw cash from ATMs. At one location the man saw a security guard and yelled. The kidnapper ran away. He was sentenced to 24 years but was released unsupervised in Nov 2020.

The SUV belongs to a woman he lives with. He was in the SUV at the time of the abduction and there is video evidence of him wearing those slides at work. He works for a cleaning company that services the local Malco movie theater chain.

They arrested him at the apartments where he lived. He has not provided the location of the woman he kidnapped.
They were looking at the husband. Typically they always look at the spouse first in these type of cases. Apparently they were going through martial issues and being the heiress to a billion dollar business and rumors of a nanny being involved somewhere would point to something fishy going but maybe all of that was just a random coincidence
The fact that the family is wealthy is meaningless in this case. Not sure why the media even mentions it. It has no relevance to the case or situation.
If this guy did this and from the looks of it I'm sure he did....this woman is already dead. I would think the first thing they say to him is offering him a deal for her safe return. So unless he didnt do it and I dont believe that for one second then he knows she's dead and that only add time in prison. Other wise he would already cut a deal and told them where she's at.
He is paid to be quiet.

TN also has a law that would lessen sentences in this scenario if the victim is returned safely.

She is unfortunately dead.

I have people involved in this case on the law enforcement side and some that are friends with the family.

Just senseless.

I read the perp did 20 years for the same thing when he was 16-17. The victim survived. Not sure that is going to be the case this time.

I really dont believe that but even if that's the case....

payment to keep someone quiet doesnt work once they get caught. They either already got paid or not getting paid now. So talking (if someone paid him to do this) lessens his time or at least takes a death sentence off the table.

That makes no sense
Lots of police activity tonight near his brothers apartment. MPD mobile command unit on the scene which isn’t a good sign at all.
