The pregame fireworks was a nice surprise.
The introduction of the Rocket Man sing along was a great idea. If we had a great team and some great crowds, this could be UT's version of Country Roads.
The corner snack shop under the east side stands was a nice addition. I grabbed a bag of combos.
The defense was everything it should be! Dallas Gant was a great addition.
Only 79 yards in penalties! Something under 100!

What I Didn't Like:
The offense. Can you imagine the wrecking machine Penny Boone would be with a great line in the MAC? The backs didn't have much of a chance. Pass plays were either taking too long to develop or Finn took was taking too long to make a decision. I'm not sure which one that was.
The injury to Bolden. He worked hard so hard to come back and then be taken off on a cart.

I missed the injury to Maddox. Hopefully he's okay.
I’ll add to your list if I may!

What I liked:
The D, obviously. Did exactly what they should have been able to do against a weak FCS offense. This unit will be fun to watch & will keep us in most games the rest of the season.

Really solid punt coverage. Even when the offense stalled, LIU ended up starting at least 3 possessions inside their 10 years line (maybe even 1 or 2 more) because of great hustle by Rockets to down the ball.

Cluckey 3-3 on field goals!!!!

What I didn’t like:
Guess I’m piling on here, but…we had 2 major things to address heading into this season: O line play & absolutely ridiculous penalties. This game told me we didn’t work very hard on either. And yes, I know we’re already down 2 starters on the O line, but this is where better recruiting factors in. Why are we unable to recruit solid (top half of the MAC) O lineman? We recruited 1 transfer for the o line this season, and he didn’t even come from an FBS program. The lack of depth became glaringly obvious tonight, and we won’t have the benefit of “wearing down” a weaker opponent the rest of the season.

I know what the stats tonight say, but on the offensive side, it’s “lipstick on a pig”. It took all of 4 quarters to get that 37 points, Finn was throwing the ball with 6 minutes left in the game, and midway through the second quarter, this was still any one’s game. Now, if the Rockets can replicate all of these numbers against UMass next week (except for the penalties; can we try to get those down to, say, 6 or 7?), then I’ll believe this is a team that can win 7 games.
