Fun fact that i did not know but apparently the Arkansas coach was an assistant at Cincy once upon a time:

Quote:FAYETTEVILLE -- Sam Pittman will face another of his former teams as the University of Arkansas coach when the Razorbacks open the season against Cincinnati on Sept. 3.

Cincinnati will be the fourth former team Pittman has faced in 24 games since he became Arkansas' coach for the 2020 season.

It also will be his sixth game leading the Razorbacks against a team for which he previously was the offensive line coach along with Georgia (twice), Missouri (twice) and Tennessee.

"If you coached at every other school in the world, eventually you've got to play them," Pittman said Wednesday when he spoke at the Hawgs Illustrated Sports Club luncheon at the Hilton Garden Inn. "A lot of firings."

Pittman coached offensive tackles and tight ends at Cincinnati in 1996.

I hope he take us lightly because he remembers bad the program/facilities. I doubt it.

I have a good feeling we're going to shock the world, just like Notre Dame last year 04-cheers
Butler Benton is on the Arkansas support staff. Mason Fletcher's brother is also a freshman punter for Arkansas. Several interesting connections.
Thinks we are a 7 point underdog against Arkansas.
Were we an underdog against Notre Dame last year?
UC was favored. We went in as #7 vs #9...watching the game again... on youtube.

No we were 2.5 point favorites at close, although IIRC Notre Dame started out as a favorite but the line shifted throughout the week. It will be interesting to see how far this 7 point spread moves.
In the first series they Notre Dame went for it on 4th and 10 instead of trying a 53 yard field goal or punting. And they got the first down..
And Sauce intercepts. I have a feeling this is a game i am going to rewatch over and over...
I would love to go to Arkansas for the game. Probably won't. Where are people watching the game in the Cincy area? Or maybe Columbus alumni club?
I am leaving Friday morning for the game in Fayetteville.
Three in our group
Got seven in our group....

I've heard of a watch party at the Holy Grail.
I think we are going to have to contain this QB. Let him get his yards by air but limit yards by ground. That ND game last year they brought in the running QB and Bearcats blitzed like crazy over the next 2 series and they scored both times. After that they shifted to contain and shut the guy down as he wasn't a great passer.

Our ability to stop the run in general will be interesting. Arkansas had a good rushing attack last year.
LFG!!!
Give 'em hell Blackcats!
Not saying that we are, but it’s going to feel very strange to lose a regular season game. I think we may have enough for this one. Go Cats!
Go Bearcats!
