ESPN+ published an article where they ranked all 131 programs by tiers. Some of their conclusions were predictable, some were questionable, and some were just odd. Here are their opinions regarding the 2022 version of C-USA.

Tier 16. UAB, UTSA, & WKU
Tier 18. UNT, FAU, MTSU, & UTEP
Tier 21. LA Tech
Tier 22. Charlotte
Tier 23. Rice & FIU

Tier 16, I was hoping for Tier 15....
I don’t think UAB is trending down? Also, they explained the tier as a season in which the stars aligned perfectly for these teams. UAB got their ass kicked by Liberty in the home opener, dropped a stupid game to Rice (that is on lists of one of the decades most unlikely upsets), and then a bad play call costing us the UTSA game. Not to mention the luck of drawing the national champion. Seems it was a bad luck season for us.

I agree. I don't think UAB is trending down either. I expect UAB and UTSA to battle it out for the western division again.
App. State and Coastal Carolina are tier 10 and WKU is 16 and Liberty 17 seems likes too wide of a gap.
Some of these tiers were spot on but I don't think they knew much about Liberty and just threw them in one of the more generic tiers. Even with this being a relative down season for us I don't see a scenario where we get close to 3 wins. 6 seems to be our floor

The western division? I believe that is a relic of the past.

Yeah. I forgot the division thing is gone. But they should both contend for the conference title. I think they will both be better than WKU this season. Maybe FAU will be up there too. They looked very capable last night against Charlotte.
Not sure how we are trending down but whatever......
This is someone sitting around not being productive at the ESPN offices and his or her boss walks to this guy's cubicle and says, "write something....anything" and dude put this piece of chit article together.

Trust me, I don't mind where he put UAB but as a former journalist I can tell you that article is a whole bunch of nothing burger....lol.
