and no one knows who. Anyone know anything?

Thanks John
I've not heard anything.
Rumor is Ali from what I’ve heard
I haven't heard anything but Ali wasn't at Fan Day on Saturday and there was lot of grumbling and hypothesizing about it.
He and Colombi would be the only 2 they'd keep quiet, imo. Maybe they are trying to see the extent of the damage before they move forward.

We don't need Ali week 1. We will definitely need him for ND if we want to push the game, but I'd be ok sitting him till conference play if that's what it will take.

Amen brother! I'd love to have him ready for ND, but if he can get back to 100% for conference play by sitting him, then do it.
Ali is out for an undisclosed amount of time according to a press release. Reading between the lines, it sounds pretty serious.

dangit. I hope he's ok
Wording from all the media sources seem to imply that it isn't an injury and more in the realm of a family / personal issue.

I think it's both. I think he got hurt, due to hospital rumors, but also something else happened that makes his future uncertain.

Very unfortunate. I hope he can rebound from this unscathed whether he comes back or not.
To my understanding he is injured, enough to make him miss over 1/2 of the season, and perhaps longer depending on recovery time and rehab, and the 'time away' is to get away from the spotlight and the program for a bit while he deals with the emotions and disappointment of potentially having his future significantly negatively impacted. I suppose that could be classified as a personal issue, but it's all tied up with the injury, or at least that's what I've heard.

That seems to make sense. We chew through a lot of backs and usually come up smelling like roses in the run game. I mentioned in another threads we went from King(kicked off team) to Knox(left early) to McDaniel(pot ring) to Ali(whatever this is). Except for maybe McDaniel, who never was the featured back here, they've all been upgrades from the previous one. It is possible LaBorn or Payne will take up the slack and shine, or even one of the freshmen. I mean Huff does specialize in RB development.

Hope Ali gets everything he needs and gets well. Next man up.
Has it been confirmed that Ali is actually injured? All of the messaging surrounding the injury has been really opaque and honestly kind of bizarre. I support medical privacy but it feels like there are a few layers to this onion. Reminds me a lot of the strange press release announcing the game cancellation against Charlotte a couple years ago.

And, if he is in fact, suffering from such a devastating injury, he possibly has some psychological issues as he contemplates his NFL future. That is a TON for a young man to contemplate and worry about.

DJ's back injury is what this is like. I don't want to have to thank F-ck Landon for getting to the bottom of it, again. It serves no purpose to withhold information about our arguable best player.

The way Marshall handles these things makes me scratch my head sometimes. It's not like Ali can hide his injuries from NFL teams, so no benefit there to lying about it. Instead we release the worst blanket statement possible, and make people think he is leaving the program. SMH.

A simple statement of, "Rasheen Ali will miss a portion of the season due to an unspecified injury", was all that was really needed.

But that's common sense. 04-cheers

I'm guessing these things aren't taught in the mentor/protege relationship while coming up in coaching. Dealing with bad news should be discussed, especially when the SID dept perennially sucks like ours does. Someone should have edited/improved that statement before it was released. Major fail.
Looks like Ali is back. Going to be interesting.
