What’s scary is that all of this could happen to any of us who stole nuclear documents, according to the House GOP

Up thru President Carter they were considered private property. NARA was to make them part of the public record. President Obama's went to a federal facility to be digitized for his Presidential Library but have been unavailable for 5+ years. Not much transparency there.

What documents did Obama take and then refuse to return?

You might want to look at 4/18/16 Rolling Stone article on the 11,000 documents that were being held by the Obama administration.

"were" being the key word in your post.

Did the FBI have to get them from Obama?

Did they include the Nuclear Codes?

Of course he did. He's Donald Trump. Laws don't apply to him.

Do we know that? Why the heck would he do that? He didn't seem interested in that stuff even when he was in the White House.

Because now he wants to get back INTO the White House?

They are the Presidential Archives. Every President has them. Obama decided to digitize his Archives instead of putting them in a building like every President before him. It's a modern President making a modern decision that his predecessors didn't have the capability to do. Apparently, this takes a long time and Obama hasn't completed the task. Presidential Libraries usually open about 5 years after a President leaves office.

You can cast aspersions and assume Obama is doing something nefarious. I'm sure all the racists who didn't believe Obama was an American citizen will believe all of the worst case scenarios.

We have norms in this country where former Presidents are trusted. That's why Captain Dip **** is so hard to contain. He takes a blow torch to all of our norms. Like accepting defeat in elections. Like not claiming fake voter fraud & spreading doubt about our democratic process. Like not organizing an inussurection at our Capitol the day he'd officially lose the election. Like not suggesting to his followers to go cause physical harm against the VP & Speaker of the House. Like not holding back military aid to our allies so he can get dirt on his political rival.

And now...

Like not taking classified nuclear documents to his residence after he was no longer the President. Then not giving them back after he was issued a subpoena.

All your whatabouts don't work with this unprecedented lunatic of a former President.

PS - I'm sure we'll never see Trump's Presidential Archives because once again he took a blow torch to the norms and refused to follow protocols on meeting notes, documentation of Presidential events, records of WH guests, etc. And I'm sure his followers have a cynical conspiratorial reason for why it was all necessary. They always do.
Whatever Trump took, the Democrats sure didn't want it released which is why we'll probably never really know what was in those boxes...

They just started construction on the building in August 2021. It was under federal review until December 2020.

There are documents so classified, you're not even supposed to talk about what they are. Yes, hopefully we never find out what the specific documents are.

BTW...this is the DOJ & FBI who are doing this. The DOJ is led by a Biden appointee. The FBI is led by a Trump appointee.
The national archives website has already addressed this Obama Archives situation in the past. This is posted on their website. So, the latest Whataboutism whack-a-mole is BS. I look forward to the next one. MAGA Republicans will come up with something soon and then their cult will regurgitate it.

Wow

NBC has obtained the Mar-a-Lago search warrant. It shows Donald Trump is under investigation for potential obstruction of justice and violations of the Espionage Act

He better start cooperating if he doesn’t want to spend the rest of his days at Shawshank.

Whatever happens, even if it goes against him he will keep appealing it until it gets to the Supreme Court which is packed with right-wingers now. So who knows what would happen with that.

Your cult leader is finally going to prison. Maybe he'll be open to your conjugal visits.

Ever since he was first sued (in 1973) for racial discrimination in housing his legal playbook that has kept him out of jail-prison is Deny, Deflect, Delay.

Either Supreme Court majority he helped create would let him off the hook or, since he's 78 now, he might be dead before seeing the inside of a cell.

He is much more of a "Teflon Don" than John Gotti was. Pun intended.

overall and

The Rolling Stone article was while President Obama was in Office.
Was this all documentation for Trump's Presidential library? Here are some other ideas for the library:

10) Art of the deal book
9) Upside-down bible from the photoshoot done after clearing protestors with tear gas
8) Broken glass from Capitol building windows
7) Sharpie
6) Empty shelf labelled “Covid testing supplies”
5) Letter from BFF Kim Jong Un
4) Border Patrol children’s cage
3) Helmet with horns on it from the “buffalo” guy
2) Proud Boys membership certificate
1) Bag of undelivered mail from US post office

With Trumps's history with Putin do we really want him to still have ANY Nuclear information much less the "codes"?

It's illegal as anything could possibly be in this country.

Not that it matters to Trump.
