Senator Ron Johnson (R-Wisconsin) suggests that Social Security & Medicare should be changed to require annual Congressional approval -

https://thehill.com/policy/healthcare/35...ual-basis/

Johnson is running for re-election to a third term this fall, after vowing years ago to only serve two terms. This idea is sure to be a hit with the 17.9% of Wisconsin voters who are over 65 (https://www.census.gov/quickfacts/WI).

Barring some catastrophic event, the House is headed for a GOP takeover. But the Senate is looking better and better every day (thanks Herschel and Dr. Oz!), so hopefully Majority Leader Schumer is ready to get lots and lots of judges confirmed.
Dear diary,

Trump broke me real hard yesterday.
Liberalism is a mental illness.

Liberals should never, ever be in positions of power and authority. Ever. They ruin everything they touch.

It is like the GOP is actively trying to fill the most 'gettable' seats in the Senate with truly bad candidates with those two you mention above.

On top of it, Trump shat so hard on the Arizona Republican infrastructure that he really heavily assisted losing two Senate seats in a row to give an enormous boost to the GOP fall to a 50 seat VP tiebreaker minority.

It doesnt look good for Masters in Arizona in the current cycle -- but the people who probably could win an Arizona general against Kelly have taken a seat in light of Trump.

Had the Rs done better with their candidates, and other factors, they could have really garnered help in the negative Biden groundswell. As it stands, looking better than even for a zero gain or loss of at least one for the R side. Hopefully not, but that seems to be the cards on the table right now.

But the Rs have done a terrible jib with senate candidates for a decade or more.

2010-Christine O'Donnell, Sharron Angle
2012-Linda McMahon, Richard Mourdock, Todd Akin
2017 special-Roy Moore
2018-Martha McSally
2020-Two Georgia seats, McSally again

With better candidates, republicans could have a significant senate majority today. Those two Georgia seats really hurt.

I agree with your assessment, it appears they may well blow a favorable environment in part due to the candidate quality issues that have plagued the GOP for years...our friend above, Sharon Angle, Todd Akin, etc. I think my team is in good shape in Georgia & Pennsylvania, and although Ohio is redder JD Vance is another terrible Trump-propelled candidate and Tim Ryan is just the kind of Democrat who may succeed there.

On the flip side, I do think the GOP nominated the best candidate in Colorado so that could become a much tighter race. And New Hampshire and Nevada are likely to stay close, I'm starting to have more concern about those two than Georgia & Pennsylvania.

If the GOP had more primary voters like you and Owl Numbers, you'd win more elections. I see too much RINO bashing and too much conspiracy spinning about stolen elections vs. a focus on winning elections. The GOP needs to recognize more that someone you agree with 65%, 50% or even 40% of the time is far better than someone you agree with 20% of the time, as you've said. The far right and far left extremes in both parties push ideas that are unpopular, but over the last few cycles we seem to have done a better job in the Democratic party of nominating more moderate candidates unless the seat is safely blue and extremism doesn't matter.

The clean sweep of Arizona in the span of two years really hurt as well.

I do not agree with republicans on gay rights and abortion. I do not agree with democrats on any issue (including gay rights and abortion).

Republicans need to understand that you can't do anything if you don't win elections. I really don't think republicans understand electoral politics.
Yeah! Lets elect more people that don't know the difference between a man and a woman.

This is like a giant 'spin-o-meter-rando' quote.

I'll play----

Yeah! Lets elect more people that think massive child pedo rings are run by Hillary Clinton from a pizza parlor.

(holy ****, this rando spin o meter thing is fun!! when can I take another rando-spin on this???)

It certainly seems that way! Mitch McConnell and a few others understand electoral politics very well, but those who understand how to play the game are ignored or increasingly, outright attacked by those who prefer to point at the other side, scream "CHEATERS" and overturn the game board. That is loud, dramatic and gets a lot of attention but it doesn't win elections, or court battles about elections.

Yeah, is this like, some liberal fairy tale because I even googled this and still don't even know what the #^$% you are talking about.

And... if you're going to try to be funny it helps a lot if you are actually funny.

Well, McConnell would not be at the top of my list of republicans who are strong leaders or who understand electoral politics. In probably the most critical senate elections in years, he did everything he could possibly do to lose the two Georgia runoff seats.

Unfortunately not a 'liberal' fairy tale....

It is about on point as your complaint about electing more people that don't know the difference between a man and a woman.

I cant wait for your next random issue in that case. Can I request something related to penguins? Maybe that is a stretch, not many good one liner rhetorical 'whadaboutism' political complaints about penguins.

James Alfantis and his crew are pedos, nobody said Hillary ran a pedo ring. Hillary did get a child traffiker out of jail from the DR who snatched up about 30 kids in Haiti and was going to bring them to the USA.

And guess what gay rights still don't exist LOL.
Liberals can’t meme. Everyone knows that
Who are you guys trying to convince? Us or yourselves? You shouldn't have to to try this hard.
