Practice has not begun but we must project. It is August first and a 70 degree morning in the Ypsilanti area. Football season begins soon and in year nine of the Creighton era expectations remain high. Drive Down 94 to Detroit.

I will attempt to predict the outcome of the games before the team steps foot outside the Champions Center and TJ's garage to practice. We have Taylor Powell at QB (NIL deal might be free wings at powells)
Here is my prediction for the season.

Week 1 Friday night lights Vs Eastern Kentucky 7 pm
Don't worry most high school teams play on Thursday this week, could be a big crowd if its move in week. I expect a close game with the Eagles pulling it out .
31-17 EMU over EKU

Week 2 @ Louisiana
Get down your fiddle get down the bow, Louisiana Saturday night! The Ragin Cajuns are one of the better Group of five programs in the last decade EMU puts up up a fight but loses down in the bayou
Ragin Cajuns 34 Eagles 20

Week 3 @ Arizona State 11pm (PAC12after dark)
No we do not get automatic entry into the PAC 12 if we win. I expect the money line to be enticing and keep me up for at least the first half of the game but I do not think EMU has the offensive fire power to beat a P5 team
Arizona State 20 EMU 6

Week 4 Buffalo
The Bills come to town with Josh Allen and an explosive offense.
Wrong buffalo team. I think we tame the bulls in the factory to get back to 2-2
EMU 27 Buffalo 13

Week 5 Massachusetts
Don Brown comes down Washtenaw Ave with his blitz a minute defense. Need Powells to have his head on straight for HOCO weekend he does
EMU 27 UMASS 10

Week 6 @ WMU Waldo Stadium
Tim Lester is not PJ Fleck. He is a good coach but not elite, this frustrates WMU fans similar to when Oberon stops being sold. Chris Creighton remains one step ahead of the broncos.
EMU 38 WMU 34

Week 7 Northern Illinois
Could be another good crowd if the weather holds up. Never know at the factory which is the 2nd coldest place in the county behind oestrike stadium The defending MAC west champs come to town and escape with a victory.
NIU 20 EMU 17

Week 8 @ Ball State Muncie Indiana
Besides Jerry from the TV show Parks and Rec, no in the world likes to go to Muncie Indiana. Mike Neu was on the hot seat for a hot second but with the cardinals Muncie magic over the eagles, expect an angry forum and another strange loss for the eagles
Balls State 24
EMU 23

Week 9 Toledo
Could the candle get put out in Toledo? Maybe with another subpar season. I think Rockets over power the Eagles in this one.
Toledo 42
EMU 38

Week 10 Bye

Week 11 MACTION Tuesday night in Akron
After busting in Stark Vegas Joe Moorehead will lead the Zips this season It will be cold, it will be Tuesday and we will watch an EMU win
emu 31
Akron 17

Week 12 @ Kent State #moreMACTION
#flashfast has been exciting and a great turn around for Kent State. Well the eagles defense will be aided by a freezing rain storm and wind to ground the Golden Flashes offense. EMU wins a rock fight
EMU 10
Kent State 9

Week 13 CMU Friday at noon
First off Hopefully Jim McElwain is getting healthy, the Michigan MAC trophy will be on the line. But CMU power running game grounds the Eagles.
CMU 31
EMU 17

As you can see I have us at 6-6 and a trip to the Potato Bowl. See yall in Boise.
I’m still waiting for Creighton to post consecutive seasons with an OVER .500 record. Very hopeful that this is the one.
Dear fanfrompowellspub,
I would disagree with two of your picks. I think Eastern beats Ball State, and Central. Both teams have lost key personnel, and I just don't believe they are going to be that good.
Ken,
We have not beat Ball State in four years. CMU still has Lew.
We lost a power 5 transfer QB for a group of 5 QB transfer, not as high on Powell as I am Powells Pub's wings.
Ball State loses a TON from last season, including their starting QB and star WR. Most predictions have them last in the conference.
Can we have Monday Musings, August Edition (all subjects)? :)

Have we ever beaten CMUs coach? Nope! Their DL is stacked!
Maybe next week.

I feel like we will beat CMU because Jim McElwain might have to step down due to health problems
I hope that is not the case though
I am optimistic that we are going to pull off a win in either Louisiana or Arizona. Both teams are not the same as they were last year, and I think we are in a position to surprise someone.

I also agree with the comments regarding Ball State and CMU. I don't think 9-3 is beyond this team.

I already placed my bet at Draft Kings for EMU to win the MAC. Yeah...I'm a slappy when it comes to my teams.

Love the optimism! That would be a great run...with Rynearson crowds rarely seen before.
Dear Luckeyone,
McElwain is only entering his fourth season as Central's coach. Just because we lost three in a row is no reason to think we can't beat him.
As to Central's defense, I think they have lost some key personnel, as well as their offense, so let's see as the season unfolds.

Hi Ken, I sure hope you’re right! McElwain is simply a very, very good coach who knows 1) how to run the ball (lead conference) and 2) how to stop the run (CMU much much better than EMU). McElwain inherited a team that won but 1 or 2 games and still beat Creighton his very first season. I love Creighton but he’s not been able to run the ball in this conference.

Cincinnati is still G5 and Powell was originally at P5 Mizzou. Did you get this backwards.
Cincy > troy.
Major factor on Powell staying healthy.
