Epic Fail

These Sunbelt fools have been talking about major financial announcement about their media deal.

Cardinalblacktrojan “Eagerly awaiting next week.”

TTT “ all projections are correct, Southern Miss will be making 3 to 4 times the amount of annual TV revenue than we did in CUSA.”

Hell they even put up poll “How Much We Will Make?”

Monday came and went, The announcement was Gill contract was extended.

Tuesday came and went, And once again no financial details.

“I don’t understand why this is played so close to the chest when other conferences deals like the AAC, ACC, MAC, and SEC are available. These are also espn conferences.”

That’s right all other ESPN conferences we know the financial details.

And if it was a 400% increase for the Sunbelt every AD would have already announced it. Because every AD likes to Brag

“ I hope we aren't going to be a little disappointed with the media deal. All I have gotten from my sources is that the new deal keeps our money the same even with the additional four schools. So in other words, money has gone up, but it just keeps us all at the same amount we were seeing prior to the new additions. Also, that amount of money basically covers production. My sources should know definitively.”

You are right the Sunbelt Media contract has not increase 400% and basically covers production
Would love to see the deal be way below their expectations. Although I don't know what that means for us. Hopefully they value basketball at least a little.

Why are these two words capitalized? I'm puzzled. Did you type this on mobile and keep shifting sentences around? Do you have some old man spellchecker enabled in your browser that autocompleted the words for you? Did you mean to capitalize the whole word for emphasis but messed it up? Do you have a sticky shift key after spilling some Steel Reserve?

So many questions

You won’t see the financial details because the financials are way below expectations.

Of course the financial expectations are way below some of these almost comical Sunbelt posters like CardinalBlackTrojan (complete moron)
Whatever thier deal turns out to be, it will not change the fact we need to focus on what will happen with this conference even though they like to hold it over our heads like a badge of honor.

You bring up a good point more worthy of discussion...How much value does basketball bring to a media deal? We all know football drives the bus in realignment. That's a given. But, how much does basketball impact the media deal? When a FBS Conference signs a media deal, they're guaranteed broadcast of football and basketball games If it was a media deal for just football, we would all know it. The media companies all want content year round, not just Sept to December, so I'd wager the value of good basketball content from Nov to March means something.
Basketball absolutely has value, UConn left the AAC over their
basketball rights. Granted UConn basketball is on a different level.

I would wager that Basketball and Baseball are more important than ever especially of NIL, transfee portal and the obvious push of the P5 separating even more from the G5 conferences.
Another post about the SBC from a guy who only logs in to post about the SBC, on a board that claims to hate talking about the SBC, that wants no SBC posters to post here, despite numerous posts intended to bait and lure SBC posters into arguments about the SBC.

I think the A10 is a good one to compare this to. They make roughly 275k per year per school. Football is included but NBC mainly wanted their basketball content.

Thanks for the info. I knew there was value, just had no idea what others were making. This is the one area that will go in CUSA's favpr in negotiations. Adding Liberty and NMSU will definitely help enhance the potential of CUSA basketball as a valuable asset to have along with other traditional basketball strong programs like UTEP, MTSU, WKU, and LaTech.

Glad you are a fan. I'm sure our increased linear options will make for an easier viewing experience for you. I'm still confident in the 2 mil but who cares? If you got it, do you really need to flaunt it? Athletics are about winning. Everything else takes care of itself.

I will be tuning to Stadium, CBSSN, Facebook etc to keep up with my former conference brethren and am excited for y'all too!
Love these Jackson St posters.

I bet you have already started counted that mythical “2 million” dollar contract.

You probably believe that lazy incompetent sportswriter from JMU too
Osage
“I say we are better(speaking for myself here) I mean the conf. The administration. The proximity of schools. The rivalries. The media deal....and yeah its a forgone conclusion its about 2 million a year.”

Yes these morons are really that dumb.
Sunbelt poster
“Well golly gee I wonder why we never heard announcement about our 400% increase 2 million dollar deal”

“Muther, Skullymoron, TTT, FrankyP, Cardinalblacktrojan said it’s true so it must be”
Where is a mod to move this crap to the smack board?

Hold what as a Badge of Honor?

There is zero evidence of 2 million dollar ESPN contract

And a shred of common sense would tell someone if the deal is not made public it is because it is below expectations.

These Lies are being called out.

If you say that Sunbelt is getting a 400% 2million ESPN contract, well prove it! We know the details of every other ESPN conference, so what is it Sunbelt?

Obviously it is more than likely the contract is the same per school and the 4 additions did not add any extra value.

The ULM posters sources are correct, The overall media deal increase because of the four additions but the amount per school is the same

Boy? 03-yawn

It is an intentional inflammatory post about a different conference on the C-USA board. It's crap. Serves no purpose outside of smack talk which is where it has been moved and where it belongs.
JMU's beat writer reported the number "could increase to about $2.5 million".
