Albert Vann, who attended the University of Toledo on a basketball scholarship, BBA ‘59, died on July 15. His obituary was in the New York Times on July 22. I was not able to successfully attach it. He also has a listing in WIKIPEDIA. The Times’ headline read “Albert Vann, 87, Longtime Legislator Who Built a Black Base in Brooklyn.” An accompanying photo caption said “He helped shift New York City’s center of political power from Harlem to Brooklyn.”
