NIU Athletics dropped this Youtube video a few weeks back on the 2012 season. Has Jimmy Ward, Tommylee, Lynch, and a few others in it. Good watch.

If NIU is 2-2 instead of 3-1, it will be because of Tulsa. Also, for those who know something about golf tournaments, Tulsa is home to perennial major championship Southern Hills. And pro golfers regularly decry the heat. Tulsa is HOT HOT HOT! at that time of year. It would be *really* dumb to wear anything black. White uniforms and helmets, guys. No s---.

With it being a road game, they should be wearing white( even though I hate them, Ham should break out the all whites for Tulsa).Unless Tulsa pulls a LSU uniform decision.
I am all set to go to the Kentucky game and real excited, but I have a feeling the Tulsa game is going to be a classic between two G5 heavyweights and the game to be at.

Wasn’t it originally the heat as to why the Dallas Cowboys always wore their road uni’s at home?

Might still be hot but jersey color won’t be a factor as it’s a 6pm kick.
Better safe than sorry. Tulsa does not appreciably cool (into the mid-70s, below 80-85 F) until after 8 p.m. until mid-September or so. It's also always hotter on the field.

Dallas views their blue jersey as bad luck. Back in the 80's, a couple of NFC East teams would wear their away jersey for home games against Dallas to force the Cowboys to wear their blue jersey. Then in the late 80's, Dallas changed to a darker blue to break the jinx
Remember the old saying "... everybody talks about the weather, but nobody does anything about it ... "?

To back up some naysaying, occasionally Tulsa's average shift to slightly cooler weather in mid-September can occur earlier ... which is what we hope for. It was given that 6 p.m. kickoff on Sept. 10, and there isn't a strict "line" on the shift. On the other hand, that whole central-south region has been a wave of heat blasts this summer. Hopefully it's run out of steam (haha) by gametime. Though it's their "home," Tulsa has to play the same field.

Prediction? Weather or not, I'm betting on Hammock & Co. A little too much Huskie for Tulsa.

Too bad we can't schedule OOC games with warm weather teams on Tuesday nights in DeKalb in November. A nice 35 degree night with a light drizzle.

Those teams would forfeit before stepping on the field.
We played at Georgia Tech last year in September. I'm sure Georgia humidity is worse than Oklahoma heat in September.

Tulsa lost quite a bit in their offense, they had a 1st round pick Tyler Smith who went to the Cowboys. Funky program, have a great track record ATS against top 20 teams. They do know how to compete.

I was at that game there was very little humidity and it was in the low 80's at kick-off. The worst games were Iowa in 2013 and Vandy in 2019. I thought I was going to melt at both of those, especially Vandy and ended up watching the rest of it from the End zone which was covered

I concur. I was at both Iowa and Vandy. Iowa probably being the worst. I was so sweaty and gross I wanted to get away from myself to get some fresh air. Vandy left me with a sunburn for weeks.

Vandy game was nothing short of BRUTAL.
Ok, ok. I officially take back the dire heat prediction. You win. But I'm still watching at home on the tee-vee.
The game @ FSU was really hot too. I was at Iowa and Vandy also...both hotter as hell, it was at least 125F inside the hive called Kinnick.

125? How many people did not pass out? I must have been at a different game at Kinnick.

The nosebleed seats had a breeze good for you. In row 3 it was a sizzler.
I sat in row 10 or 12 down in the corner. Not much altitude to catch a breeze. And Kinnick can be a heat bowl.
