Liberty fans in the wild. That's all. I keep an eye out for fans of teams that are not P5.

I think you will see more Liberty fans come out now that Falwell Jr. is gone. I saw several Liberty fans at Ocean City, NJ on the boardwalk.

Agreed. Falwell Jr was a cancer to the Liberty image.

If the belief of evolution is such a sure thing, why not allow the teaching of creation along side it. I have no problem with evolution being taught in school. What I do have a problem with is the denial of creationism being taught also. Present the two and let the student decide. But we both know that’s not going to happen, because the holes will began to appear in the evolution theory.

I know I'm not going to change your feeling that you are being persecuted for your beliefs and not for your lack of logical rigor, so I'm not going to try. I do hope that at some point you learn enough about these topics to recognize that it isn't some simplistic setup where A and B have equal support, and the establishment has chosen one over the other for reasons of...well whatever the reason is you think young Earth creationists are usually not taken seriously.

I will say that there are MANY schools that teach both evolution and creation...I went to one of them...and are able to do it in a way that stays true to the disciplines they are taught in. I have wondered at times if Liberty might be on that path and hope that, if not, they will be someday.

Because we all know that there aren't any Christians that are in administration, alumni, students, or athletes in any of the schools in the SBC. That totally explains why Liberty was being persecuted for their beliefs. 04-chairshot

I am not sure what there is to be debated about LGBTQ rights or as they are otherwise known, human rights.
Maybe you missed my question about your definition of a woman or maybe I missed your answer.

A woman is an adult biological female that generally has female reproductive parts such as ovaries, uterus, etc.

My friend, please, this is not the place for these discussions.
You are right, and I have deleted what I just posted because I don’t want to fall into a trap where we are subjected to any more of his pontificating on his religious beliefs. Like the mods have said: this is a sports forum and that stuff doesn’t belong here.

Another question is are the people who enabled and supported him, still there? Cancer can be very hard to remove.

There are definitely still some issues that need to be worked out but sending Falwell Jr out the door was a big step in the right direction.

Honestly I'd bet most people don't even know who he is. I wouldn't know anything about Liberty's and Fallwell's controversies if it weren't for these boards and Reddit. I've even asked some of the biggest Evangelicals that I know and they don't even know about the school.

When in reality, you’re nothing more than a glorified FCS conference. You have 2 or 3 teams who have winning records by beating up on all the other weaklings in your conference. I’ve saw where many here say “football drives the bus” to excuse your conference weakness in other sports. Yes, football is the moneymaker, but to be a power conference (like many of you think you are) you have to be above average in several sports. Which your conference is not.

The newbies you just got continually post on the CUSA forum telling everyone how great the Sunbelt is when they haven’t even played one game of anything yet. It seems they are looking for validation about joining your conference. They kept repeating how bad they wanted to leave and when the time came to leave, they still continued to spend more time on the CUSA forum than here.

From what I’ve read, the former CUSA members continually whined and trashed CUSA while they were active members. Never really doing anything to improve the conference. It’ going to be interesting how long it will take for them to get their feelings hurt and start trashing the Sunbelt. Watch JMU, they think they are God’s gift to the Sunbelt.

Liberty Flame fans are used to all the hate and the many false accusations. We understand that the actions of Jerry Jr. brought much of this on. Most if not all of those associated with Liberty are glad he’s gone and wished it had happened sooner. Many Flame fans never wanted to join the Sunbelt years ago and many don’t like the idea of joining CUSA now. Preferring to stay independent. But the changing landscape of conference realignment has all but forced independents to join a conference. Unless you are Notre Dame of course.

Even though we still have our haters, we are Liberty you know, most of those on the CUSA board have been very welcoming and we are grateful and look forward to being a part of that conference. But deep down I think I would like the idea of getting an invite from the Sunbelt. Not really joining, but just an invite. I would love to sit back and read the posts on this forum as each of you try and talk each other off the ledge. Now that would be entertaining.

"I've saw"?? Cool.

Meanwhile UMass has announced that their game versus Liberty on October 8th will now be Pride Day. That'll go over well with the Flames.

I find that hard to believe. The Falwell name has been synonymous with evangelism since the Southern Strategy. Any evangelical that tells you they don’t know about the Falwels or Liberty are either the types that think the yellow first down line is a real thing or it’s more “Falwell? never heard of him.” deniability.
