Full Version: Rumblings of Certain Schools In Big 10 And SEC To Be Booted For Bad Performance

I am reading articles that the Big 10 and SEC would be booting schools who are not performing winning in football, have the ratings or not many fans in the stands. Schools from the Big 12, PAC 12 and ACC that have not been mentioned as expansion prospects is because all three do not work for them. Why would Big 10 or SEC pay Kansas the full amount when they are the worst in the Big 12 with all three categories.

ACC schools not going get the invite to either Big 10 nor SEC.

ACC:
Duke
Miami
Pittsburgh
Georgia Tech
Louisville
Boston College
Syracuse
Wake Forest

Big 12:
Kansas
Oklahoma State
West Virginia
Cincinnati
UCF
Houston
Baylor
Texas Tech
Kansas State
Iowa State
BYU
TCU

PAC 12:
California
Arizona
Arizona State
Colorado
UTAH
Oregon State
Washington State

Now for the schools that are in danger from the reports are:

Big 10:
Indiana
Maryland
Rutgers
Illinois
Iowa
Minnesota
Northwestern

SEC:
Kentucky
Missouri
South Carolina
Vanderbilt
Arkansas
Mississippi State

Schools that can get invites?
ACC:
Notre Dame
Florida State
Clemson
UNC
NC State
Virginia
Virginia Tech

PAC 12:
Stanford
Washington
Oregon

If any schools not in these 2 conferences start doing better in football, ratings and selling tickets to football will get into the club. The reason why is why should a school like Alabama have an equal pay amount as that with Vanderbilt? Alabama is worth more in football.
Why should Boise State gets paid less than a school like Kansas?

I think the tv contracts should be based on the performance of each school. Alabama gets paid more, but Vanderbilt should be paid less than Boise State or Cincinnati.

Oh my, another head spinner. If Boise State was so great why are they being pushed aside every year. Why weren't they included in the Big Ten decades ago? C'mon, I cannot understand nyour angle here.

Contract based on performance? Boise CC puts every dollar it has into football, that's why it succeeds....on the field. It promotes football over the education of its students, who last time I checked struggle once graduation comes. It has no educational brand to ruin. Lastly, it's performance is also tied to the lax standards it has on its "student-athletes." Check how many Boise players have been arrested after leaving college and/or entering the NFL. Titus Young is a big one.
Those are fan articles. AKA junk.

Doesn't ultimately eliminating all "losers" result only one "winner". Remember every game has a "winner" AND a "loser". Think Alabama, Clemson, Oklahoma, Ohio State, etc. would be happy with a 6-6 record when they have no 'losers" on their schedule. And, if by "performance" is that only judged by a W-L record? How would one decide what team X was worth, team Y, team Z? If there is any professional league where the media money is not split equally among all the teams in the league? If so, please enlighten me. That should tell you something.
I wouldn't mind seeing Nebraska and Iowa getting kicked out of the Big Ten and going to the Big 12.
Or Maryland and Rutgers getting kicked out of the Big Ten and going to the ACC.
Or Arkansas and Missouri getting kicked out of the SEC and going to the Big 12.
Or South Carolina and Kentucky getting kicked out of the SEC and going to the ACC.
There would be severe financial penalties for the BIG if it tried to toss a school out. The BTN is partly owned by the schools as equal partners. A new member to the conference has to buy a full share. That is why NEB, Md and Rutgers didn't get full shares of revenue. The difference was used as the buy-in. So now buy-in money from any new member would have to be used to buy-out any schools you think should be tossed.
I want to ignore this because it’s so bad but I just can’t

Northwestern has four Top 25 finishes in the past seven years and four bowl wins. During that same period Michigan has four Top 25 finishes and zero bowl wins.
Bottom dwellers serve an important purpose. Not everyone can win.
