New Recruits
Somehow we finally have several internationals. Mann must have worked out the kinks to getting these guys here. Some of our rivals have been doing this for years and it seems to have benefited them.

Not a fan of this in general. European leagues are off limits to Americans without dual EU citizenship.
So bringing in:
- a 20 year old who has topped out of the Icelandic pro system a
- a 22.5 year old grad transfer student who has topped out of the Montenegro pro system
- 18 year old Portugal player
- 18 year old French born Spanish player
congrats to them and the coaches, hope they work out well, just not something I like to see: 50% of recruiting class is overseas from places that do not reciprocate that opportunity and 1/8 is from Virginia
... student athletes ...or athletes taking classes

Athletics and In-state priority died long ago. EU leagues are not off limits to americans in soccer. Money talks. Basketball has different rules, probably because of the NBAs near-monopoly. We just havent historically produced soccer players that are good enough. Americans are finally making their dent in the top tiers, but its still spotty and we dont have enough home-grown talent to skip international recruiting.
I just returned from ECNL Nationals in San Diego. Chris Norris was there, recruiting U17 players from all over the US.

Last tune up game tomorrow at home vs American.
Won it 3-1
Was listed as an exhibition, but ncaa.com lists it as a regular match and now has us as 1-0. Not sure what to believe.
Exhibition. I attended the exhibition match vs AU last year and we looked terrible. Very promising to see us dominate yesterday.
We actually won 4-1 with four different players who found the back of the net (two freshmen). AU is picked to finish #2 in the PL.

I think that it is now tied at 2-2.
It finished as a 2-2 draw, both our goals were scored by Diba Nwegbo, with the equalizer being scored in the 83rd minute.
Interesting uniform. I like it but where’s the green & gold?

Part of UA's general habit of using an alt color scheme I suppose. Is the third WM color of silver intentionally used here or is that part of many schools palette options? If so, not crazy about a matte grey/silver...especially when people call us waste management. Quite a bit of the cgreen/gold colors in lateral piping, but I am always underwhelmed with our choices. Much like my desire for team USA, I wish theyd choose a classic style that just becomes the "always" jersey...you can tinker year by year, but Id like it to stay largely recognizable without effort. Id love block Green and Gold horizontal stripes and similarly the team USA Waldo jersey. Hoping for better home kits.

Coastal is usually a strong team but leading by two, park the bus and secure the win with emphasis on defense.

Yes, a very disappointing result for a team with such experience to give up a two goal lead. Hopefully they remember this for the rest of the season.
Blown out 1-4 at Drexel. Physical game with tons of fouls, cards, including a red for each team. Didnt see the game, but hopefully it was just an ugly outing.
Tied at 1 with Longwood toward the end of the game
