Its interesting that "liberal" "enlightened" Europe has generally tighter abortion restrictions than most of the US. The more restrictive US states are actually more similar to Europe than places like California or New York.

Agreed.

As the Islamic influence increases within European society, that difference will become much more stark/noticeable.
So? We've had more freedom in America on making these life decisions. We're not starting from scratch here. So going backward is not something women in American want.

I'd be fine with adopting Finland's laws on the subject, don't think that's where those celebrating this decision want this to go though. Don't think anyone on the right is advocating for universal healthcare and maturity (and paternity leave) that Finland offers. But hey if I've missed that by all means let me know where that push on the right is and I'll grab a MAGA hat!

"While the Finnish language most resembles Hungarian and Estonian, Finland is absolutely Scandinavian when it comes to its parental leave culture. Finland offers a very long parental leave to its employees, where starting in 2021, both parents are entitled to parental leave of 164 days each. Parents will be able to transfer 69 days from their own quota to the other parent. The parental allowance will be paid until the child is 13 weeks old. Single parents will have the right to use the parental allowance of both parents.

Out of these, 26 weeks are paid out of 70% of the employee’s salary. For the remaining weeks, employees are given a flat rate. Despite these generous leave allowances, fathers in Finland do not use their allotment, reflecting a still stubborn gender imbalance in the country."

The GOP needs to market their point of view as “following the European model” on the issue and every lib would line up to vote for it without having a clue what it is.

True

They are stupid.

That faint smell of burning plastic yesterday was the interwebs burning as count dankula became justice dankula and the filth fell for it.

If you get it, you get it

Advocate it to your state legislators since this is in their court.

They are the burning plastic.
So instead of reaching out to your state level politicians you want to come here and moan about how the Federal Government should be in charge.

That makes sense.
