Can you give me a compelling argument as to why Mississippi Valley St. didn't receive an at-large bid to the NCAA's?

Mississippi Valley State: 2-26 (2-16)

MVSU>Prairie View>Alcorn St.>Texas Southern>Florida>Auburn>Kentucky>Kansas

I mean, come on, they were better than the national champions.

Didn't think you could make an argument. 05-stirthepot

LOL, the old Slippery Rock beat random PSAC opponent (so Slippery Rock is better than Ohio State, Penn State, etc.,) for basketball.

Without checking on last season specifically, this is the most compelling reason—they and many other SWAC schools are often ineligible for the NCAA tournament because of low academic progress scores. So there’s that… Several years there have been multiple ineligible teams. Like nearly half the conference some years.

The win against Prairie View on January 8 was wiped out by the loss on February 21.

I'll give them the win over Alabama State on February 14 to establish an alternative path.

Rules:
If single game between A and B, A>B if A won, B>A if B won.
If two games between A and B, result of last game played is used.
If three games between A and B, then best 2 of 3 is used.

If A>B, then B is a member of the D1(A) set.
The D0(A) set consists of A.

The D2(A) set consists of the members of the D1(Bi) sets for the members Bi of the D1(A) set that are not members of D1(A) and so on.

D2(MVSU) consists of NC Central, Jackson State, Bethune-Cookman, Grambling, and Southern

Keep expanding outwards until you can't add any more schools. Teams could be ranked by how many schools they are better than, and the average distance to those schools.

Southern in D2(MVSU) gets you Tulane, Tennessee State, SE Louisiana, and Kent in D3(MVSU). Jackson State brings in Louisiana(Lafayette) and Illinois State, and Bethune-Cookman brings in Bryant. This also gets Texas Southern and Alcorn State.
