NMSU ranks 5th. What is impressive for NMSU is this period of time includes one coaching change and a horrendous 12-8 COVID season in 2020-21. If not for that COVID season, NMSU would probably rank even higher. Stephen F Austin and Abilene Christian have also done well since 2016.

NMSU has a new coach again. We will see if Heiar can continue NMSU's winning percentage going forward.
