Penny is working his magic. I heard lots of folks questioning him after players and coaches left us. Now you can begin to see that the sky is not falling at all.

In fact, there may be a silver lining up there. I’m proud of the direction that Penny is moving our program. And, the transfer portal gives him the ability to remake our squad between seasons, and to do it with experienced players who have proven themselves already in college.

With Haith and Brown on the bench, and with Penny’s basketball knowledge, you can see that this should also be a well-coached squad.
We have a chance to be better than last year. This will be an old tough team.

Experience plays a huge part.

It is beginning to feel like a team put together with real roles in mind and finding the players that actually fit those roles.
Akot is a really soft landing after losing Lester

Obviously could use another shooter and another big (like most teams)

Still baffled by losing Harris, especially with it sounding like he was pushed out

I asked this in the other thread but does anyone have any idea about Emanuel Hansel at this point?

He finished HS right?

all the folks who created a stink/caused chemistry issues from last season all went bye bye.
But for some reason...Bates is still around...deciding what he wants to do. That would be something I couldn't figure out...after all the departures.

I thought Williams was in that group?

Deandre was never mentioned in that group. It was always Landers, Josh, Emoni, and evidently Tyler.

His early season poor play lead me to believe he was part of the group.

Yeah, he was likely caught in the middle and trying to do things he shouldn't. But when you watched the way he mentored Duren on the court, and hugged Emoni, I don't think he was a chemistry problem.
