Good thing Tigers play first 2 weeks on the road as August 12th and 13th the Simmons Liberty bowl stadium will be playing host to the Monster Truckz Series. With programs on Friday night, Saturday afternoon and Saturday night.

Hopefully there will be no mishaps, but if there is then there should be time to make repairs.

I don’t see how you can maintain an attractive field turf for football when you also host events like monster trucks. If these types of events are being allowed, then maybe it is time for the university to consider building their own stadium.

LA Coliseum installed an asphalt 1/4 mile track for the NASCAR Clash without damaging the field. They used to have motorcross events there every year without damaging the field.

My main concern would another incident like the one that occured during tractor pull at MSC when something broke and truck ran into the wall near concession stand on the floor.
Yet another reason we need an OCS.

You're right. Bringing Monster Trucks onto campus would help recruiting area students.
That is insane. All of those missing ceiling tiles back in the Coliseum days were due to monster trucks.

An "area student"...

Define “damaging the field”. NASCAR spent over $1,000,000 laying the track, the track took two weeks to set and the turf had to be replaced afterward. And that was LA, NASCAR and FOX. We’re talking Memphis, Monster Trucks and two minutes on Action 5 News. Doesn’t add up.

Not all. AC/DC’s “For Those About to Rock” made the tiles rain too.

I was at a basketball game when a tile suddenly fell from the ceiling and almost landed on the floor.

Most major stadiums host monster trucks , they seem to have ok turf
The Liberty Bowl is the only stadium on their events this year. Several indoor arenas, a lot of speedways, and a lot of fairgrounds. Only one football stadium.
AMA Supercross races are held in NFL and MLB stadiums.
Here is video of Monster Jam being set up in MetLife Stadium in 2018 (home of the NY Giants), without damaging the field.
