He could always come back, guys. That’s what our current A.D. did. He was the top assistant here, went off to Troy to be the boss there, then landed back in Hattiesburg the next time our job came open.

Yeah he got passed over, here, and wanted to run a department. He's been here 20 years. If he doesn't do it now it ain't happening. I got nothing against the guy and I appreciate his loyalty. But I don't count it as a loss. He's been here ample time to affect change within the way the department does things and all we've had is more of the same. We were right to go outside and get some fresh eyes, just as he is right to go off and do his own thing.

But we didn't post this here. We aren't bragging about where he went. Nor do many of us care he's gone. I don't understand why the UTSA guy is here taunting us like this reflects on us. We just hired the assistant AD from Pitt. The guy jumped in with both feet and is doing good things from the start.

You know what you can't make up? How 5 garbage CUSA schools are getting ready to ruin the AAC and put it underneath our boot. I feel sorry for UAB. They never had a chance. But don't take my word for it. Go ask your new pals in your new conference. Hell, even the ECU fans are wishing they were here instead of stuck in Texas again. No offense Bobcats. Congratulations on your one year of doing anything remotely remarkable in CUSA. Now you can go back to 13th place or whatever in everything.

I drove by Lamar this week and it is hard to say something positive about that campus and facilities.

Your own football coach probably took a significant paycut to go to the "lowest of the low" and it worked out pretty good.

A few more years of winning and he'll set himself up for a nice payday.
