Hell of an assistant hire
I'm not a fan, but I hope it works out.
This is — in many respects — an outstanding hire. Full props to Penny.
He used to drive me crazy because he always seemed to have Memphis' number. Heck of a hire.
Does Jeriah Horne have a 9th year to play by any chance?
Nice 04-rock

Of course we’re NOT fans.....We know how many X’s and how badly he’s kicked our ass 04-chairshot

This is exemplary and big kudos that he would coach with Penny....There won’t be any fupas from development/xo standpoint
Why is this a good hire?

I'm not saying it is or it isn't but just because he used to be a head coach doesn't automatically make it good.
I’ll take it. 30 years on the bench is worth something. I believe he won AP coach of the year once upon a time. I always thought the Tulsa teams played hard and were decently coached. Penny needs a long time coach on the bench and that’s what he got. (Assuming coach brown steps back in some capacity this year).

I wouldn’t call it a wow hire, but I think he could have done a lot worse. Solid hire.
He got a lot from less than stellar talent at Tulsa. That’s useful.
Interesting hire. If we still have Coach Brown on the bench that’s impressive.

Like others have mentioned, his teams seemed to always give us problems.

Got to agree. This seems to be a solid hire, especially if Larry Brown isn’t coming back as an AC & might not travel (I understand he's coming back but likely not as an AC).
Great get! TBD who will benefit more. Will it be Penny who has been outcoached by Haith often? So Penny may benefit from this hire. Or will it be Haith who has always done more with less? Will he benefit from working with Penny's recruiting? I believe it will be a win win. Hope I am correct. I will always be pulling for Penny to become the greatest coach in Tiger history.

This is REALLY AWESOME..... Didn’t LB coach Tulsa @ one point....Brown has a companion (with equal length coaching exp) Penny gets knowledge from so many facets..... They all want to WIN....and imagine them all celebrating a CHAMPIONSHIP....COGS bitter sweet Ey say
