Makes sense.
Let the new chancellor gets his AD in there.
He is Medicare age so enjoy retirement and family with that nice state of NC pension.

He had a good run

Don't count on it, They just promoted someone to deputy AD and the timing of that promo and this announcement is rather suspicious

I don't know if suspicious is the right word, but having a logical replacement in the wings with a new chancellor coming in would seem to me to make it more likely the internal candidate gets the promotion. If everyone inside the athletics department is pushing for Tucker, I could see a new chancellor not wanting to rock the boat, particularly one who is also getting an internal promotion.

Ahhh yes, another conspiracy within the UNCW athletic department and campus as a whole. They promoted Tiffany Tucker, just in time for Bass to announce his retirement. The plan is coming together. Oh by the way, if you just look at the website you'll see that Tucker was promoted to Deputy AD in August of 2021. Wouldn't necessarily consider her being "just promoted" using your term, with it being almost a year ago.

Maybe do a bit of research on the Deputy AD and realize that she's one of the most respected leaders in college athletics today. If the new Chancellor and trustees decide that she's the next AD, it will be well deserved.
Did anyone congratulate Mullet on his dream come true yet?

Pipe down Gary. I'm not $hitting on her as a potential option. Solo said the AD can hire his own person, it seems the seed has already been planted for a successor prior to the new chancellor arriving that's all i was saying.

Nah not going to pipe down. Lord knows you should try it every now and then though.. When you spew stupid statements like your “suspicions” about her being promoted almost 12 mos ago and the timing of the Bass announcement, you deserve to be criticized and corrected.

I’m going to start the Mullet/Hoops co-ad campaign. You both have all the answers and are the smartest guys you know, think it would be a good fit.

I'm not sure i provided any answers so i'm not really sure what you are talking about. I simply stated that his successor was in place already. You took it and ran with it further and accused me of not thinking she'd be a good hire which is NOT the case at all. Seems you are the one with all the answers putting words in my mouth

Sorry, you’re probably right, as you think you are in every insufferable post you make on here. I took the information you said, which was 100% untrue, and corrected your reference to the “suspicious” actions. Quick question, if his successor is in place, why is it suspicious? Based on your statement above, you think she could be a good hire.

Luckily, it’ll only be a matter of time before you move on because the new commit from Memphis/Marist isn’t big enough for your liking.

Block me then Gary, you seem to have a big problem with me, Block me. Save me from having to read your drivel. Everything UNCW ever does is gold in your eyes. You should try looking at things objectively for once, it's a whole new world out there fanboy.

Recently promoted…wrong
It’s suspicious…wrong

Only way someone would be suspicious of a potential deputy ad being promoted would be if you didn’t think that person could do a job.

Enjoy your misery in everything UNCW related. Tough way to live…constantly bi***ing and complaining.

someone that was promoted and it hasn't been a year yet is 1000% recent in just about any business. Most people don't even get there bearings in a new role until 6 months in. Again, I NEVER said she couldn't be a good hire. Yet, here we are with you putting words in my mouth. LEt's agree to disagree shall we(especially since you are wrong?)

Bass retirement is next April ? Hopefully they look around and don't just promote without a search . The best candidate might be in place now but it never hurts to make sure . The landscape seems to be moving everyday now and it will take someone with a strong work ethic .

Sounds like 919 (maybe “Gary”) up there is gonna submit your resume for you. Best of luck!
