Just got an email from John Cunningham that we are confirmed for Big 12 entry on June 1, 2023. Let's Go!!!
I would assume someone is typing a FOI request even as I write to find out how many $$$$

Does this mean we get either Texas or Oklahoma at Nippert?

Could be one in 2023 and one in 2024, but I prefer that a deal happens and they leave. It is like living in a house and you are getting divorced. Not cool!

I prefer that we host two of the nation's blueblood programs at Nippert.
I get where he’s coming from but we won’t see a penny of the exit money and might as well get 1 or 2 true blue bloods in Nippert for the first time in basically eva.
I am sure Texas or Oklahoma would demand we move the games to Paul Brown Stadium. I sure hope we stand up to them and refuse. Make them face the Wrath of Nippert (preferably in a night game).

I’m not convinced the newbies are going to get Texas and Oklahoma. I have a gut feeling the current members are going to hog those two for home games. Saw a discussion on this topic, and it lowered my expectations for TX and OK playing at Nippert.

As far as we’re we would play them, I don’t think TX or OK have the leverage to demand anything.

They can demand all they want. Lame ducks have no power.

Might want change that date by a month.

They both play at Kansas and their pathetic little field. Baylor's stadium is not much bigger.

They'll play at Nippert.

This, particularly since we have the clearly better program than one and the other is in a transitional phase to a new coach. I'll be happy with one at Nippert. Two is asking too much, and if we don't get one at all, I'll be pissed.
It seems the likelihood of an OK or TX game at Nippert depends on how a 14-team league is organized in 2024 & 25. Pods of 3 or 4 seem highly unlikely, until OK and TX leave.
The league could become a two-division setup with each team playing 6 in division and 3 out of division. This could result in OK in division with UC and get one game at Nip and one in Norman.

More likely is the league remains a free for all and expect the continuing 8 to get TX and OK games at home as a sort of farewell tour.

I would expect OK and TX in 2024 & 25 to play "The old 8" and one each of "The new 4"
So, UC UH UCF and BYU will each play OK or TX once.

Still hope something happens so TX OK leave but $75 large each is serious money.
