Quote:The January 6th Committee is set to begin public hearings on Monday, marking the next iteration of the sham body that is seeking to prove a vast right-wing conspiracy to breach the Capitol Building and “overturn” the 2020 election. Their chief target is, of course, former-President Donald Trump.

What evidence does the committee have? There doesn’t appear to be any at all, as every past “bombshell” has turned out to be nothingness. Still, the hype is real as its members proclaim that they’ve got the goods and have just been holding them in reserve. Given how leaky the committee has been, though, it seems improbable that they’d have been able to keep something significant under lock and key.

Case in point? Axios is reporting, via leaks, that there are internal divisions between committee members that threaten to harm its supposed credibility (yeah, I laughed too).

I have good news for Liz Cheney. The committee already has no credibility, so there’s no need to worry about the insane things Jamie Raskin is pushing. Still, I find it hilarious to watch this play out given the realities of the situation. Who exactly did Cheney believe she was joining hands with when she burned her political career to the ground in order to become best buds with Nancy Pelosi?

As I’ve pointed out before, Raskin is a nutjob who actually tried to overturn the 2016 election, not based on any suggestion of fraud, but simply because he didn’t like Trump. And this is who Cheney thought she’d get a fair shake from? It shouldn’t be a shock to anyone, much less the Wyoming representative, that Democrats do not see the January 6th committee as some truth-finding mission. Rather, they see it as a vehicle for radical change so they can continue to steal elections far into the future.

They want to change the election system not to make it more secure, but to make it less secure. They want to get rid of voter ID, mandate same-day registration, impose a universal vote-by-mail system, and get rid of the Electoral College so California and New York get to elect the president. None of this is a secret, and Cheney pretending it is a surprising, honest disagreement is pathetic. She knew what she was signing up for, and now she’s responsible for what comes from this committee. No amount of leaking to Axios will absolve her.

Lastly, can anyone explain to me why the January 6th committee is looking into changing election laws in the first place? What does that committee’s stated mission have to do with whether Houston, TX, has drive-thru voting or if Wisconsin has voter-ID? Any imposition on current voting laws, specifically any plan to federalize elections, only further underscores how blatantly partisan the committee is. The goal isn’t to expose some nefarious plot. It’s to make it so Democrats get elected into perpetuity. At least they are being honest about it now.

Adam Schiff Claims 'A Great Deal' of New Evidence Exists in Capitol Probe

Quote:California Representative Adam “Shifty” Schiff appeared on CBS News’ Face the Nation Sunday morning and promised, that “a great deal” of new information will be coming out about the events on January 6, 2021, when a group of protesters entered the US Capitol while the presidential electoral count was in progress.

Schiff is a member of an investigatory Select Committee announced by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi in June 2021. Now almost a full year later, Schiff finally thinks he’s got some true gold.

Host Margaret Brennan asked him:

MARGARET BRENNAN: But if you don’t deliver a bombshell on Thursday, don’t you run the risk of losing the public’s attention here?

ADAM SCHIFF: Our goal is to present the narrative of what happened in this country, how close we came to losing our democracy, what led to that violent attack on the 6th. The American people, I think, know a great deal already. They’ve seen a number of bombshells already. There is a great deal they haven’t seen. But perhaps most important is the public hasn’t seen it woven together. How one thing led to another. How one line of effort to overturn the election led to another, and, ultimately, led to terrible violence. The first non-peaceful transfer of power in our history.

Schiff is famously a windbag prone to using over-inflated, hyperbolic language, but it still stuns when you hear him say things like, “how close we came to losing our democracy.” Not close at all, Adam, not close at all. Do you really think a rowdy band of protesters was going to overthrow the Capitol, move on to the White House to take over the executive branch, then seize control of the mightiest military on the planet?

Where Schiff really loses his credibility though—if he has any left—is the line, “There is a great deal they haven’t seen.” Really? There’s some bombshell info you have in your back pocket that you’re going to drop on the American people shortly? Schiff is a notorious leaker, and if he had something juicy you can be sure it would have come out in the pages of the Washington Post or the New York Times a long time ago. We’ve seen this movie before.

Asked a simple question about what witnesses might be appearing in front of the committee, Shifty refused to offer specifics:

Margaret, we’re not commenting on specific witnesses, so I can’t confirm or deny who will appear before us.

The real problem for Schiff is he repeatedly promised he had bombshell evidence about the Trump Russia collusion hoax, yet he never produced it. It makes him completely untrustworthy.

From the editorial board of the Wall Street Journal on May 12, 2020:

Americans expect that politicians will lie, but sometimes the examples are so brazen that they deserve special notice. Newly released Congressional testimony shows that Adam Schiff spread falsehoods shamelessly about Russia and Donald Trump for three years even as his own committee gathered contrary evidence…

In December 2017 he told CNN that collusion was a fact: “The Russians offered help, the campaign accepted help. The Russians gave help and the President made full use of that help.” In April 2018, Mr. Schiff released his response to Mr. Nunes’s report, stating that its finding of no collusion “was unsupported by the facts and the investigative record.”

None of this was true, and Mr. Schiff knew it.

Schiff may indeed ride into the committee to throw down some bombshell evidence Thursday, but his past lies certainly make that hard to believe. He earned his nickname “Shifty” with his endless dishonesty, distortion of the facts, and outright lies.

As the old saying goes, “You can’t trust him any further than you can throw him.”
That bug eyed fool has no credibility and believes that accusations = facts, yet he NEVER provides the evidence he claims he has.
Democrats’ House Jan. 6 Committee Enlists Media BigWig to Help Sensationalize Upcoming Hearings

Quote:n yet another effort to show the world how desperate they are, the Democratic House Select Committee on the Jan. 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol building is relying on a former network news executive to help make the upcoming hearings on the incident as dramatic as possible. They seem to believe a bit of production value and pizazz can rejuvenate the riot into something that could be used as a political weapon to minimize the damage they will receive in November’s congressional elections

Axios reported that “James Goldston — former president of ABC News, and a documentary storyteller who ran ‘Good Morning America’ and ‘Nightline’ — has joined the committee as an unannounced adviser.”

A source told the news outlet that Goldston “is busily producing Thursday’s 8 p.m. ET hearing as if it were a blockbuster investigative special” and that he “plans to make it raw enough so that skeptical journalists will find the material fresh, and chew over the disclosures in future coverage.”

It’s a bit amusing that Axios seems to believe there are “skeptical” media activists to persuade on this matter. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to see that most members of the activist media are salivating at the possibility of using the hearings to help their comrades in the Democratic Party.

Goldston’s role will be, in part, to “draw the eyeballs of Americans who haven’t followed the ins and outs of the Capitol riot probe” according to the report. The production will use “a mix of live witnesses and pre-produced video,” “official White House photographs from Jan. 6, 2021, that have never been seen publicly,” and clips of many of the committee’s depositions.

In other words, Democrats are pulling out all the stops to make this production as successful as possible.

Thursday’s hearings will be the first in a series of productions weaponizing the riot against Republicans in the leadup to November’s elections. While the first will be shown at night, the rest will be broadcast during the day.

The article acknowledges that Republicans “will argue that the 1/6 committee — which consists of seven Democrats plus Republicans Liz Cheney of Wyoming and Adam Kinzinger of Illinois — is just out to get former President Trump.”

Cable news outlets have already booked high-profile Republican members of Congress for interviews after the first hearing.

However, despite the hype Democrats are putting into this production, it will make about as many ripples as a grain of sand tossed into the Atlantic ocean. As many have already pointed out, when Americans are sitting at the breakfast table, they are not complaining about Jan. 6. They are focused on gas prices, inflation, education, healthcare, and other issues that are actually impacting people’s lives.

The hearings are nothing more than a last-ditch effort for Democrats to win some political points before receiving the shellacking that is coming during the midterm elections. They still have found nothing to run on, and the myriad of failures of the Biden administration has turned the public away from them. Unfortunately for them, it does not appear they will find a way to dig themselves out of this hole.
I saw on TV a poll in the UK where they polled U.S. likely voters and found that around 85% of those polled said the U.S. was on the wrong path.

They're wondering why we have tolerated this crap for so long.

The absolute stupidity exhibited at high levels of government is astonishing. The Electoral College is literally spelled out in the Constitution. There is no law that can be passed changing that. The only way to make such a radical change is a constitutional amendment which requires a two thirds vote of BOTH houses and must be ratified by legislatures of 3/4's of the individual states. Zero chance your getting a 2/3'rds vote in either house----and even if you somehow got that vote---it only takes 13 states to stop the amendment. Your chances of getting all those little small states to vote for throwing away the only influence they have on the presidential election is worse than the chance that Biden makes it the next 2.5 years without a gaffe.

They don't care. It makes for great sound-bytes for their constituents and gins up the base who have no idea about the process involved in changing any part of our constitution.
The constitutional amendment process is another great example of the intelligence and foresight of the founders. It specifically exists to keep a bunch of over inflated, power hungry, one party types from treasonous moves within the federal government.
Democrats Admit the Real Reason for the Sham January 6th Committee

Quote:While most Americans are concerned with paying $5 a gallon for gasoline and the savings-busting inflation currently plaguing the economy, Democrats have a singular focus: January 6th.

The now 17-month-old event continues to stoke the imaginations of journalists and leftwing partisans everywhere, not because they truly believe the threat to the country was real (a few hundred rioters weren’t overthrowing the government), but because they have nothing else to run on going into November’s mid-terms. January 6th is their Hail Mary. It’s all they’ve got left, and without it, Joe Biden’s disasters domestically and internationally stand alone in the consciousness of the American people.

The New York Times actually penned a piece admitting as much, noting that the committee is hoping to “recast” the mid-term election.

Of course, a normal person would be asking exactly what “role in the attack” the Times is asserting Republicans held. Even if one buys into the nonsense that Donald Trump was somehow coordinating and in control of those who entered the Capitol, that does not constitute “Republicans” in terms of the mid-terms, which is the framing given. It only constitutes Donald Trump.

Still, as has been shown thus far many times over, there is clearly no actual evidence Trump knew what was going to happen nor that he helped plan it in some way. Rather, the committee is spending its time trying to make people think it has connected dots that are still five dots apart. For example, their chief bit of “evidence” appears to be an internal memo floated by Trump surrogates debating what would be legal to do in regards to the certification of the election.

But objecting to the certification of an election is not illegal, nor does it show a conspiracy to violently overthrow the government. How do I know? Because Rep. Jamie Raskin, a member of the January 6th committee, objected to the certification of the 2016 election.

The January 6th committee is full of hypocrites, and nothing about it is seeking to find some important truth. Rather, its existence is purely about politics and delivering Democrats their wildest dreams regarding how elections are conducted. Raskin admitted that on Monday as he stumped to abolish the Electoral College.

That’s the quiet part being said out loud, providing the best evidence yet that the January 6th committee is a partisan sham. Not only is the committee looking to get rid of the Electoral College, but its members are also trying to use its “findings” to bolster the case for the federalization of elections, a Democrat goal that failed to garner even 50 votes in the Senate earlier in Biden’s tenure. They see the institution of universal mail-in balloting, the abolition of voter-ID, and other provisions like same-day registration as delivering a permanent Democrat majority.

That is what this is really all about, and while it may be a cynical effort, I’m also convinced it’s one that won’t work. No matter how much the press tells them they should, the American people just don’t care about January 6th. They’ve got real problems to deal with, and indulging the pampered fantasies of the Washington class isn’t a priority.
This is a losing issue for the libs to focus on.
