You don't hear this talked about, but it's very impressive in my opinion: from 2014 to 2018, ACC teams defeated a Big Ten or SEC conference or division champion each year in a regular season non-conference game, as shown in this list:

2014 Virginia Tech v Ohio State (B1G East, B1G, National Champs)
see Great OOC Wins: 2014 Virginia Tech vs. Ohio State

2015 Florida State v Florida (SEC East Champs)
see Great OOC Wins: 2015 Florida State vs Florida

2016 Pitt v Penn State (Big Ten East, Big Ten Champs)
see Great OOC Wins: 2016 Pitt vs Penn State

2017 Clemson v Auburn (SEC West Champs)
see Great OOC Wins: 2017 Clemson vs Auburn

2018 Duke v Northwestern (Big Ten West Champs)
see Great OOC Wins: 2018 Duke vs Northwestern

Why is this not talked up more?
Nice find. They hate us cuz they ain’t us.

The problem in ACC football is parody in the middle. We have a giant midsection. Should probably pad OOC with patsies.

I'd like to see ACC teams play one or two P5 schools OOC each year, provided that they don't schedule a team like Bama that will gut them like a pig on national TV. Never play a G5 team on the road. Most importantly, make sure you win OOC as much as possible.

Well obviously Florida State, Clemson, Georgia Tech, and Louisville play the SEC annually. Clemson pretty much dominates the Palmetto Bowl but I doubt they get much credit when it comes to "beating the SEC" beating South Carolina. Florida, Georgia, and Kentucky have dominated their ACC counterparts in recent memory although Louisville and Florida State have had success in the early 2010's.

I don't know how serious the Alliance is and if it will lead to more ACC/Big Ten games. I personally hope it does. If I had my way, Penn State-Pittsburgh would be annual. Penn State and Syracuse announced a home and home in 2027/2028 which I look forward to (https://www.blackshoediaries.com/2022/5/...and-home). If the ACC and SEC remain at 8 conference games while the Big 10, Pac 12, and Big 12 stay at 9, there will certainly be more opportunities for more ACC/SEC games, they will need to play someone.

Parity as well, I'd say.

Yeah, trust me I've heard from people on this. Guy lets his phone autocorrect and internet loses its mind.

Or should I say "losses" so grammar nazis can get a chubby about me?
