Schools aren’t supposed to offer NIL as an inducement to enroll or stay at a school. Yes, I know there’s a lot of gray area and a lot of unknowns and a lot going on that doesn’t smell right but you’re describing something that’s almost certain to get scrutiny. There’s a reason no conference has done this.

The ACC is not the SEC. ACC schools are risk averse, if for no other reason because most of the ACC schools, unlike most of the SEC schools, have academic reputations to protect. NCAA investigations are bad for academic reputations. See UNC which wriggled out of NCAA sanctions but which is still taking a huge reputational hit from that scandal.

No Hell No….

Schools like Georgia Tech, Pittsburgh, Boston College, Miami and Louisville should be able to use their urban locations as an advantage. Its certainly been used against them by the State U’s located in some college town for years.

If NIL are changed, they’ll be changed because of this advantage and everyone knows it. When Saban is whining about recruiting you know the NCAA is going to bend over and kiss his backside.

The NCAA should have seen this coming. They thought it wouldn’t change recruiting for their fair haired favorites. Now that a school like UofL is taking advantage of it, you know they are pissed.
How do the service academies handle NIL?

Just curious.
