So the 10-year estimate based on acquiring land that we don't have yet? I can see where that might be a delay and a problem. Of course I think the biggest problem is simply the 400 million-dollar cost.... and that will turn into God knows how much more in 10 years. The giant elephant blocking the door.

There going to spend 200 million to rebuild half the Liberty Bowl. If they do the other half, guess what 2 X 200 million is? Yep. 400 million kids. It's a shell game.

As some of us thought, they already know where a good chunk of the money is coming from. They're not flying by the seat of their pants.
The land acquisition was clearly the main hurdle for an OCS - both time wise and $$ wise.
Just wait until the city chooses un- and under qualified contractors and doesn’t go with the lowest bid. Wouldn’t be a city of Memphis project if they didn’t do that.

I wonder where they thought about putting it if they had to acquire land? Between Highland and Patterson?
If it was over the the library and engineering crossing over zach curling then wouldn't the university already own the land?
Could they have been thinking across Southern? Or maybe off of Patterson between Poplar and Central behind the Holiday Inn?
