What we think is one thing. What other people are saying is different.

Let's post it here.
We made the top stories at ESPN's NCAAF page. Of course their headline says "at least $150 million" instead of "$150 - $200 million"...
RedditCFB tweet about Liberty Bowl

They call the Liberty Bowl the best college football venue in America.

Seriously.

Great Q&A with the Mayor, AD and Dr. Hardgrave.

And we can still get a beer or a cocktail with our corndog in the stadium.

A whole lot of bloated egos over in that thread, especially from our current members who haven’t left yet. And even the newbies coming into the AAC….

The disturbing thing about this board is we got three, THREE posts about the stadium news. Those three were only in the thread focused on stadium projects.

The numerous threads on future conference expansion took no notice at all of the announcement. These are people that follow this stuff day in and day out. None of them noticed. None of them cared. That is discouraging.

That is pretty close to the truth. The lack of reaction should tell everyone how significant this is not. The city and the administration did not make a national media event out of this. I don't know if it is because they didn't want it or because they failed.

I think the proper word there would be "and" where you have an "or". They didn't make a big deal of it nationally, because it would look like what some of us think it is.

Please me be wrong about it and it exceeds my wildest dreams and spurs our football program and the university to new heights! Please!!!

As a season ticket holder since 1989, it's a BIG deal to me and our group. Away with your nonsense, this is the University going to the next level.

Claw - just curious, do you have season tickets?

I had season tickets when I lived in the area. I have not for 12 years or so since I moved away.

I've seen Tiger Lane. It's wonderful. This will be nice too. Enjoy it. But 25 years from now it will much more than likely be run down from lack of maintenance. The Liberty Park facilities will likely be in the same condition. The city will come BACK to the university for more money - and why not? We give it to them! We are idiots.

100, 150, 200 million we are going to GIVE AWAY instead of building something of our own that we could control and maintain. We'll get a couple of decades of decent facilities, but when they age, the city will be there again with their hand out, and apparently we'll be stupid enough to do it again.

Do you rent or own your home? Why? This is really not any different.

Didn't think so, Claw. You're very negative about everything. Could you just be happy for once. Maybe we don't make it to the B12, but Fu$# at least we gave it a shot and have a nice stadium. Get happy, bro.

But you DON'T have a stadium. You are draining 100 to 200 million dollars of university benefactors' money to buy SOMEONE ELSE A STADIUM. NOT US.

That is 100 or 200 million that will NOT be invested in the university AT ALL. We will NEVER see that money. It's gone. WE ARE GIVING IT AWAY.
