Full Version: Markets Crash Even as Biden* Crows About His Economy

Quote:The stock market continued its roller-coaster ride with the Dow plunging two percent on Monday alone. This leaves the index at its lowest point of the year, off almost 12 percent, while the Nasdaq Composite fared even worse, diving 4.3 percent. Thanks, Bidenflation.

Tech and energy stocks fared the worst, according to the Wall Street Journal. They explain the causes:

Markets have been shaken this year by a flurry of investor worries. Inflation is running at its fastest pace in decades. That has forced the Federal Reserve to kick off what economists anticipate will be its most aggressive monetary policy tightening campaign since the 1980s. Investors are questioning whether the Fed will be able to pull off its planned course of interest-rate increases and cuts to its balance sheet without tipping the economy into recession.

Sky News was a bit more succinct, writing that “a toxic cocktail of worries” has investors spooked.

There are also growing worries that the inflation problem – made worse by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine – will result in recession for major economies as the Bank of England warned, last Thursday, was a growing risk for the UK.

Cryptocurrency Bitcoin, meanwhile, has lost almost 60 percent of its value since its all-time high in November, dropping almost 15 percent on Monday alone.

Many say, “Who cares? I’m not an investor and I don’t own stocks.” I’ve heard the phrase, “It only matters to billionaires,” but that’s not true. CNBC explains that the stock market affects the little guy too:

They write:

Due to a number of factors, the fates of Wall Street and Main Street have never been so intertwined. The share of household wealth that comes from directly or indirectly held stocks hit a record 41.9%, more than double where it was 30 years ago….

With household ownership of stocks scaling new heights and the destiny of companies — particularly in the innovative tech sector — tied to their share prices, the fates of Wall Street and Main Street have never been so intertwined.

More importantly, however, is the argument that markets are an indicator of economic health, and a possible predictor of gross domestic product (GDP). Explains Investopedia:

The stock market is often a sentiment indicator and can impact gross domestic product (GDP). GDP measures the output of all goods and services in an economy. As the stock market rises and falls, so too, does sentiment in the economy. As sentiment changes, so do people’s spending, which ultimately drives GDP growth; however, the stock market can have both negative and positive effects on GDP.

We could go on with other numbers and economic arguments, but the main thrust is that if the markets crash, it’s bad for billionaires—but it’s also bad for you. If you lived through 2008, you know what I’m talking about.

Biden has, of course, been gaslighting us on how great the economy is under his watch, but the numbers tell otherwise, as we’ve reported: The GDP shrank 1.4 percent in the 1st quarter; inflation is at 8.5 percent, the highest since 1981. And so on.

Biden might think his economy is all that, but investors clearly don’t. That’s not good for any of us.

C'mon Man! No mean tweets! Life is good!
There is a reason we dont let dementia patients drive. The fact we have one running our nation is absolutely inexplicable. Yet another reason to question that 81 million vote figure.
CNBC nails it to the wall with steel railroad spikes:

The UNDENIABLE bottom line is Biden* is a typical half century Deep Stater that simply is a COLOSSAL FAILURE. He completely SUCKS as the puppet POTUS that he was illegally installed to be. He is just destroying the USA in every way.

It is just incredible - Almost every thing he touches turns to absolute $h1t.

Biden* is GOOD at two things:
1. Lying through his teeth like all the other DS politicians
2. Shaking down countries for graft and illicit monies due to his USG connections - like 95% of the DC crowd.

Joe Biden* is the absolute worst President in my lifetime. Carter is a distant second and Nixon a more distant third.
All he had to do was acknowledge it at the beginning. He’s an idiot though. It’s not his fault that it’s happening but he’s done NOTHING about it.

Disagree. He may not bear ALL of the responsibility of the economy and markets, but he sure as hell deserves significant credit. He handcuffed our energy sector and as you know the cost of energy affects EVERYTHING because it's a foundational component of economies that factors in all cost inputs - from production all the way to transportation of finished goods.

He also projected weakness to the world and it's pretty fvcking obvious that he's suffering from dementia - as far back as 2020 when he was a candidate - and all of our enemies see it. Russia doesn't attack Ukraine if Biden was competent and projected strength to the world.

On second thought - he's the scourge of the earth and is most likely the root of virtually all of these issues AND the mess internationally.
He's doing exactly what he and his family have been and are being paid to do which is to facilitate the destruction of our republic. Anyone who doesn't see and acknowledge that has their head all the way up their own ass. We are being squeezed and squeezed hard.

I would never have thought it was possible, not in my wildest dreams.
Biden doesn't know what day it is. People are probably telling him the economy is great.

HIS economy probably is great. It has been for 50 years. Otherwise, how does he accumulate his wealth off a senator's salary?

There was always going to be supply chain and inflation problems after 2020-21. The sudden jolts and in supply and demand over that span led to more inflation (government spending and the Fed) and supply chain is mostly a worldwide issue.

I agree that his energy policies, vaccine mandate, masking all slowed down the recovery and instead created an artificial bubble. A country cannot thrive with major supply chain issues - working class Americans have been attacked since day one of the Biden administration.
My 401k was absolutely rockin' under Trump.

I can't wait until he's president again so he can fix it.
I'm watching a clip of pResident Burden explaining how inflation is everybody's fault but his. Predictable.

It's like choosing a 5th grader to tell us why it is not his fault.

You left out not informing people and pushing treatments for Covid instead of actively keep doctors from prescribing and pharmacies from filling prescriptions for treatments. THAT actually happened.

Stupid useless policies, such as requiring truck drivers to get vaxxed which led to driver shortages and the ports backing up, was self-inflicted stupidity.

Had Biden* done NOTHING we would be in far better shape. Everything he has touched has turned into a turd. Its almost like he inherited Obamas turd-nugget touch.

THIS.

The Alzheimer's impacted Jack@ss-in-Chief is simply following his controller's plan to destroy the USA. The controller is whoever is writing Biden's BULLS HIT speeches that he carefully recites from the teleprompter.

Look at all $H1T going on right NOW across the United States of America. Everywhere you turn to or look at....it has been impacted in a massively negative way.

Crime out of control particularly in blue states/cities due to Soros funded DAs letting criminals go. Supply chain crunch in numerous economic silos - food, fuel, chips, car parts, building supplies, etc. Inflation running rampant across the country particularly for food and fuel. Average cost of regular unleaded in USA is $4.37 - a new high. Just wait until the summer vacation travel period kicks off on Memorial Day weekend! Wages falling behind the inflation growth; paychecks being stretched. The Supreme Court under attack with absolute SILENCE from the White House. The southern border being absolutely overrun and infiltrated by illegal aliens, even the Mexican President openly calling Biden* out on this. America no longer an energy exporter. Many large city schools pushing CRT for young students.

Biden* and his Cackler VP OWN ALL OF THIS.

Yay, Democrats!

No more mean tweets!
CPI comes out tomorrow. They are expecting it to be less than 8.5%. If it comes back above that then all Hell will break loose because it means inflation is still raging. Stock market dropped just before close expecting the worst.
