It marks a black day of dread, sorrow and despair.

<Sigh>

I JUST went thru several years of "old school" teams fans looking down on the newer programs with all kinds of angst and woe is me in CUSA. No matter some of those newbies had beaten those schools since joining, no matter we had more conference titles then they had during their tenure in the conference they sill wailed and moaned how we didn't deserve to be in the same conference with them simply because they had started 100 years before us and had some success in the 60's, 70's and early 80's.

I thought perhaps with the success of UCF being a younger team and moving up I would of escaped this here in the AAC. I vainly hoped that we would be welcomed for all the possibilities we had and that we could continue to elevate the conference.

And then I see these posts.

Look, I don't think ANY of the CUSA6 that are joining have said we are coming in and going to blow this place up. All were asking for is not to put us down just because we haven't been around that long. Many of us have had success in Football and Basketball. With more exposure and more money we should be able to keep improving and perhaps continue the AAC's push to be great.

So please. stop wailing that your doom is nigh.

The reality is the new schools (sans UAB) bring nothing except unrealized or improved potential - a thin branch to hang one's hopes.

The P6 is dead. It is likely the AAC will fall behind the MWC and be in a battle with the SBC. Yes, it is a day of lament.

LOL.

I stay pretty much on the CUSA board for now since that is still our home. Since this was the first "official" news of teams moving I thought what the heck give it a read.
Check in here once in a while to see how our new home is going to be.

Looks like its going to be the same dynamic as the old one with just bigger and better living space. Oh well I'm used to it. It will be curious to see what happens when a CUSA6 team wins their first conference championship in one of the big 3 (Football, Basketball, Baseball) If it happens in year 1 I can't imagine the comments.

04-cheers

I think CUSA is no longer sponsoring those sports as a conference with the move of the SBC3.

CUSA soccer also losing Coastal (affiliate), South Carolina and Kentucky to the SBC was the nail in the coffin. That left CUSA with only four schools.

The new team's fans are just starting to migrate over. The C-USA board has nothing for us, but most of us aren't quite comfortable on this board, since none of our teams have played a single game in the conference yet.

We don't know the history or the personalities yet.

C-USA soccer was down to four teams. They had to go somewhere and starting early in the conference they're moving to seemed reasonable.
