May have been overlooked in the Brett McMurphy piece about early buyouts from the AAC by departing schools:

C-USA also considered adding Tarleton State and Eastern Kentucky. In March, at the conference basketball tournament, C-USA presidents heard formal presentations from both schools, but the league decided not to add either at this time, sources said.

I could have sworn an "expert" on here told us over and over that TSU didn't want to join CUSA, was waiting, on their own accord, to see how things were shaping up. That TSU was calling all the shots and could be FBS if they wanted to. 07-coffee3

I know you're not referring to me but my source seemed pretty confident that something big was going to happen back in February or March. I believe I made a comment about it. I guess he was referring to this presentation and he thought Tarleton would make the cut. Oh well.

I hate the irony that I only have a Tarleton "source" and no TXST inside info.
She’s referring to Illiterate Texan.
Sammy with the ultimate middle school insult of calling someone a woman. I don’t know how Posse will ever recover. Calling someone a “she?” Cmon Sammy, you’re just being lazy. I come here for your racist, homophobic and ignorant rants and you hit us with that? Do better. Do it for the spirit of Sam Houston.

There you go again. Stop putting words in my mouth, lady. I said Tarleton prefers to stay in the WAC...IF and only if the WAC can figure out FBS. Tarleton is still being begged by WAC to stay. I also said Tarleton is the only school on CUSA's radar that is still in transition. Meaning, we have time to wait and see how other scenarios play out. Realignment is not over by any stretch. Fact: EKU and Tarleton are the cream that rose to the top when CUSA was looking for more additions in March. And one thing is for certain: we didn't just throw millions of dollars for an FBS-level stadium expansion for sh*ts and giggles.

Funny how you conveniently leave out that TSU made a presentation to CUSA asking for membership just last month and CUSA rejected them. That's the only fact. Your "fact" is your opinion: EKU and Tarleton are the cream that rose to the top when CUSA was looking for more additions in March. 100% your opinion. In fact, if it was true, CUSA would have accepted TSU after their presentation.

100% fact.
LOL at IgnorantTexan!

This does reinforce thoughts of the WAC’s “stability” though. If Tarleton is trying to move to FBS, why would anyone want to join? Knowing that 1 is 100% trying to leave.
IT has said before that TSU wasn’t interested in CUSA. 100% false. Since they have been reported as giving a presentation to CUSA. So they’re definitely interested, no matter what BS IT was trying to tell us.

Next up, some Seattle and UIW insults.

Never have I said Tarleton wasn't interested in CUSA. I did say that I, me personally, would (selfishly) rather be in the WAC than CUSA.

Exactly.
Exactly Tarleton would have been desperate to take the CUSA “bait”, yet here they are trying to get in. Desperation and denial on your part it seems. Not even good enough for CUSA. LOL!

I personally think it would be a bad move for Tarleton to join the Fly Over Conference. I think I already stated that multiple times.

Could be. But if TSU wants FBS, CUSA is their only option (even though it's not even an option for them since CUSA has rejected them twice now).

Right again Posse. If Tarleton has any aspirations of moving up it’s going to be a “fly-over” conference. And it sounds like they did want to move up and maybe still want to. I just don’t see why some Tarleton fans have such a hard time admitting they were rejected. As an NMSU fan I can’t count the number of times we were rejected for the old WAC, MWC and CUSA. It might not have been public but it happened. We all know it. It happens all the time to a lot of schools around the country.
Most Tarleton fans aren’t bad. It’s only one “ignorant” fan that gives them a bad name. Denying interest in CUSA and that they’re glad to be in the WAC is baloney. If they leave, he will be the first on here saying the WAC sucks and Tarleton was too good for the WAC anyway.
