Thought I'd start a thread to discuss the other three regional games/teams.

Albany & Loveland games today:

Albany Regional, MVP Arena, Albany, N.Y.
Harvard at Minnesota State, 12:00 ET
Notre Dame at North Dakota, 6:00 ET

Loveland Regional, Budweiser Events Center, Loveland, Colo.
Michigan Tech at Minnesota-Duluth, 1:00 MT
Mass.-Lowell at Denver, 7:00 MT

Watching the Mankato game right now, they are going to be a tough out for any team.
Ben Holden & Starman are reunited for Tourey games on ESPN.

Minnesota St up 2-0 on Harvard
15 game win streak and jumped on Harvard early. Crimson should warm up the bus for the ride home.

The next game should be interesting. Tech vs UMD have played over 200 times but will the CCHA schedule have prepared them for the team that seems to play lights out when the NCAA tourney starts?
I wished I wrote down the stat Starman threw out regarding Mankato and the number of goals they have scored below the dots and below the circle.
3-0 Mankato
I just hope our NCHC gauntlet schedule pays off this weekend.
Harvard with two quick goals late in the 2nd and we have a one goal game at 3-2

I feel like if a team can get up on Mankato, they will struggle to come back as they have been up and won so many games this year.

I believe the NCHC gauntlet has prepared this team to play fast and hopefully, they have learned the importance to also play physical. They also know they can beat anyone in the country after playing through the NCHC gauntlet, so they are not intimidated with any team in the tournament.

It really comes down to goal tending, match ups and who turns the puck fewer times.
Red Wing & Spartan Taro Hirose’s brother Akito Hirose has a goal for Minnesota St.

and Broncos need to get the puck on net much more than last game.

Northeastern doesnt worry me but their goaltending does and we have seen it all too much that a hot goalie can steal a game in the tournament and thats what worries me the most.

Sure, Bussi can do the same, but running into a top goaltender in round 1 of the NCAA's is not what I wanted to see.

That was the match up part of the game. UMD with their systems/structure took away the neutral zone, limiting our offensive zone opportunities.
Mankato "Survives" Harvard to win 4-3

Harvard really took it to Mankato in the 3rd.

Especially those last three minutes. The kid that mostly whiffed on that backhand 5 feet from the wide open net will be kicking himself for the rest of his life.
Duluth up 1-0 on Tech at the end of 1.

Tech lost their top player about 5 minutes in on a very questionable "hitting from behind" in which they gave him a 5 and game.

This officiating is just not consistent anymore.

The hit probably could have been 5 but to give him a game misconduct??? Definitely not game misconduct worthy.

Feel bad for the kid.
I missed the 1st period of UMD/Tech, but tuned in 1/2 way through the 2nd period and thought Tech was playing pretty good.
2-0 Duluth. No one can score on them.
Duluth up 2-0. Slowly strangling their opponent like they always do this time of year.

Denver vs UMD is going to be a war.
Fanti may never allow a goal again.

You defiantly need to get traffic in the front of him, ideally with some bigger stronger guys that are hard to move. Then it's the seeing eye shots from the point, via wrister or snap to make sure it gets through or deflects of something.
