In not surprising news, Verbal Commits reports today that Keshaun Saunders, Jamere Hill and Arnor Eythorsson will be transferring. With these 3 transfers, Toledo will have 2 additional scholarships to hand out for the 2022 Class with one most likely going to Columbus area sharpshooter Cooper Davis who gave a Verbal Commitment to Toledo last fall when there were no openings. It will be interesting to see if they go the Transfer, JC or High School route for most likely an interior player.
I cannot believe only 3 will transfer out. I expect at least 1 more.
More will transfer out forsure, I expect at least two more. Once the big schools start calling rollins he will be gone too
Edu already graduated (Dec)
If he wanted graduate degree from elsewhere I could see him in the portal

I just don't see the reason why Rollins would want to transfer at this point in time. He obviously needs to work on both his strength and outside shooting if he wants to have a chance at the NBA and he can do that staying at Toledo where he is very close with his teammates and coaches. In addition, Toledo will have an excellent team again next season and Rollins will be a feature part of it. I don't think M. Jackson helped his stock any by transferring to Arizona St so there would be no guarantees about Rollins if he did the same.

In todays culture why not enter the portal to see what your options are? A player can decide to stay or go later.

The school does not have to hold the scholarship past the end of the semester they enter the portal. Most schools don't hold it.

For the right player they will hold it.

Posters been giving you legit reasons for a month. There's not seeing and not wanting to see. lol. I doubt Rollins is looking here for motivation to move on or stay. He'll be well advised I'm sure and even have his own ideas. He goes? I wish him well. He stays? I wish him wellest.
I don't see Rollins going. Hope it is a transfer or JC big man.
I just know rollins will have tons of suitors, if you think programs aren’t secretly contacting his family, maybe highschool/aau coaches you are crazy. You guys keep mentioning rollins loyalty and relationship with Toledo that means nothing in todays college landscape. I will be very shocked if rollins is back in a Toledo jersey
The coaching staff should be looking to add a big time scorer via the transfer portal for rollins departure.

I agree with BJones. Toledo will tailor their game plan around Rollins’s talent. No guarantee a different or bigger program would do the same. He can showcase his talent better here where his teammates know his skills better IMO. I believe Coach K already has a good idea what he’s doing.

I think those days of showcasing are gone. It's all in the match-ups and combines. The selling point has to be development and that includes, who can you put around "me." "Me" in quotes because I don't think Rollin's is that kind of player. Rather, can K put together a team that will get into the NCAAs. I would think that's as big a selling point to a player as it is to a fan.
If we can't sign a 6-8+ kid who can be a rim protector, I give up.

and posters have been giving good reasons why he will stay. If you do a who's who of the top 20 current NBA players who played college hoops, it is loaded with mid major guys and not a single mid major-to-high major transfer guy. generally, that is is the route that good mid major guys toward the end of their career who want a taste of the big time take. great mid major guys usually already are in the ideal position to develop and showcase their game. Rollins had scouts at all his UT games this year. He doesn't need to go anywhere to be seen. Of course, he could be drawn to playing for Big U whoever, but most assuredly they were in his ear after his 1st year and he chose to return and he and the team improved.

as far as the transfers out, those are the three I've been suggesting all year. I think there's still a chance that list grows, but I wouldn't be surprised if it doesn't. Wilson and Farmer are D1 talents and the staff sees a future for them in the program. It would make sense for them to have a full off season w the program to grow up and find their college game. Then, evaluate their place on the team after their 2nd year. Hill lost his confidence after 2 fairly serious injuries. Good student, seems like a good kid, not sure if he's more of a D1 or D2 guy, but hope he finds a good team and academic fit. Saunders is well liked and is getting his UT degree. He could move down slightly to a low major team and probably start. Has 2 more years of eligibility and the chance to get a masters degree while playing more college ball. The Icelander will forever remain mysterious. JUCO?

Fans calling for a tall rim protector type don't know TK. First, he rarely recruits guys like that unless they happen to be very skilled. He doesn't like unskilled bigs. And skilled tall rim protectors rarely sign with MAC schools. Secondly, he's loyal to his core players and staff. Edu has battled through 3 years of injuries and earned the right (in the staff's mind) to be that guy. I get the "he'll probably just get hurt again" thinking, but I think the staff sees him in this role. On top of that Carcoana showed real promise and has real size. I'm fine with a 2 headed center tandem of those guys, especially if Edu has 7 healthy months to practice and get back in sync with the returnees and Carcoana can do the same while building his body.

No guarantees that the Michigan Tech grad transfer comes to UT, but I think he, or someone like him, is who the staff prefers to bring in. A veteran versatile guy with a bit of size, he's 6-6 215, who can anchor the bench. (anchor is the solidify sense, not the drag you to thew bottom connotation).

Davis is a possibility, but we've been recruiting some other guys who had big senior years. LJ Wells the lightly recruited Wisconsin kid with some versatility and some rim protection ability at about 6-7/6-8 is intersting. The Detroit King pg is another 2 sport football/bball star who would give us needed pg depth and is a legit D1 defender and athlete. UT just extended him an offer last week, so they must have genuine interest.

Simmons is the type of guy we need more of. 6-7 banger with some skill and energy. Lots of those size guys playing key frontcourt minutes in this year's tourney.

I think this is accurate, but IMO the wildcard is Rollins.

In the last two most important games he was a non factor for the most part, IMO. Not that the other team didn't have something to do with that - because they did. They both played him tough.

Some Blade writer said the owner of one of the pro teams were there to see him and Holmes. Don't remember who it was, but I'm guessing on his way home he was talking about Holmes and not Rollins. Holmes dominated that game - that's what the good ones do.

He's a great talent, but he's not there yet. Would he transfer to a place where he doesn't get the minutes? MJ didn't quite light things up at A state, or wherever it was. RayJ transferred from Boise State and they made the dance. How many minutes would he have played for them this year?

At the same time, we see people leave which is sad, but at the same time one would hope the replacements have more "stars" as far as talent.
I want another point guard, maybe Chansey Willis Jr

No owner the GM of the thunder Sam presti was in attendance and as far as Holmes great talent forsure but he did all that against a team with no size so I can’t really judge him off that game. Jt is an 6’7 center he had no chance in that game, I rarely seen any post moves or even jump shot from Holmes mostly put backs off offensive boards because We where so small.
