Hofstra barely snuck by UNCW by 1 point today at the DAC. So Drexel opens up tomorrow's quarterfinals at noon vs. Hofstra.

...and as ugly of a game as you'd expect. HU went out to a 10-0 start. UNCW charged back and it was 35-35 at Half. HU was saved by having 2 fouls to give in the last 10 seconds. Last UNCW inbound was top of the key extended with :02.2 left and only got off a off balance contested shot that fell way short. On the other hand Mrs. Timer and I both got CAA t-shirts from the HU cheerleaders. Let's just say the "crowd" was sparse.....

Glad you had fun. Was this your first time out at a sporting event post-Covid? And what was it like being a spectator at the DAC? Have you ever been in that situation before?
Attendance was listed at 803 today, but I guess that includes all of the tournament pass holders who mostly did not show up. Probably also includes the required tournament passes that each school is required to sell but probably doesn't.

Not the first...we were on the Phillies Fan trip to San Diego lat summer. First time back in the DAC since the MBB win over St. Joe's in December 2020. I'd probably need to go back to 1975 as just a DAC BB spectator. Not as strange as I thought it might be, but then we had a lot of folks stopping by to talk. Not used to looking at the scoreboard though.

I would suggest you are correct. I don't think 803 was reached including fans, game staff, HU & UNCW, and all the other CAA teams in the stands.
Hope we come out and throttle Hofstra again right out of the gate, and we can relax and use our bench for the 2nd half
12p tip hope we are well-supported.

Hour and a half prior to each of our games there is a fan fest type of deal with a beer tent outside on Lancaster Ave
I’m not at today’s game but it looks like a decent crowd. Drexel up 30-16 at halftime.
46-32 after 3
54-37 with 5:17 left in the 4th
Not a great game. 19 turnovers for Hofstra. We won 60-39. 21 by Washington
Well I am about to hit the road. Hopefully see some of you this weekend. Fan fest prior to the game was moved to the lobby also, FWIW.
I wasn’t able to make it to the game today but I did get to watch it. Not much really to say about this game. Defense was outstanding, and they did what they needed to do to win. Not a blowout until the very end, but the outcome was never in doubt. Glad they got to get the bench some action at the end.

Looking forward to seeing you tomorrow. I’ll be in section 3. They’re expecting winter weather in the area tomorrow morning so drive carefully. Hopefully everything will be clear by game time.
Charleston it is, after a rather physical win over Elon today. The Cougars played Drexel as tough an anybody has this year, but hopefully Drexel learned a lot from those games and will be ready. Drexel's last three semi-final games all went to OT.

No shock that UD won against W&M. NU choked up a double digit lead to Towson. 4th Quarter NU couldn't hit anything and Towson started bombing 3's.

Been a long time since I've sat through 3 straight games....
I didn't get to see the NU/TU game. Normally I'd be rooting for UD or TU to lose, but once Delaware won, I'm kind of glad Towson won. Delaware/Towson game should be a really good one. I really hope that Drexel can handle Charleston tomorrow, and we don't get another OT war, like Drexel had the last 3 tournaments. CoC is tough though.
Yesterday's total attendance for the quadruple header was 1,418. Hopefully they can get close to a sellout today. The weather forecast might keep some people away. Hopefully Drexel gets a large student turnout today, like they got in the 2018 tournament. Classes ended yesterday and finals started next week so while so many colleges are on spring break, there should be a lot of students on campus this weekend and hopefully many stop by the DAC today.
Drexel won! COC made a game of it in the second half
