Off to 1-5 start after getting swept by Kentucky.

Have allowed 78 runs in six games, team ERA is 12.52.

Four-game series at SIU-Edwardsville begins with DH today (Fri 3-4).
Gave up 12-4 lead to Kentucky on Saturday and then had them tied in the 8th on Sunday.
Swept by SIU-E, now 1-9.

Gave up 40 runs in four games, two of which (Friday DH) were seven innings.

Pitching obviously a problem.
Lost two of three to Southern Illinois last weekend, now 2-11.

Weather permitting open MAC play at home this Friday-Sunday vs. Toledo (3-1, 8-7).
When's tennis start lol
During the COVID budget-slash panic that Montgomery enacted across campus, almost all of the Olympic sports got assistant coach positions cut. The baseball program doesn't even have a pitching coach. Completely ridiculous

Gernon has two paid assistants.

If he doesn't hire one of them to be pitching coach that's on him.

That’s not true. The second assistant position was cut during budget cuts. The position had to be fund raised for. They are the only team in the MAC without two full-time assistants other than Akron (who cut their program and brought it back).

I'll take your word for it.

But Gernon could have hired one of the assistants to be pitching coach regardless of where salary came from.

And it's not totally true they don't have one. The volunteer assistant, Blaine McFerrin (who was a full-time assistant 2010-18), is working with the staff according to wmubroncos.com
Pretty sad. I hope Montgomery is gone soon! He doesn't care about Athletics!
Broncos swept Sunday DH vs. Toledo, lost both Monday to Rockets.

Now 4-13, 2-2 MAC. Host Ball State (12-8, 7-1 MAC-1st) this weekend.

Bailey was cut from the same cloth and didn’t take too long to cut short her tenure. Why not the same for Montgomery…he must have a lot of friends on the board. When Dunn got here he turned things around quickly when it came to athletics.
Broncos dropped two to Testicle Tech today (Monday 3-28) 2-0 and 12-5.

Now 4-15 overall, 2-4 MAC.

At EMU (8-13, 4-4 MAC-5th) this coming weekend.
Home series got moved to Ball State due to field conditions at Hyames. That happens every year, it seems.
Broncos won last two to salvage a weekend split at EMU.

Now 6-17, 4-6 MAC (move past Akron into ninth place).

Good news is team ERA is under double digits.

Play a make-up home game with Ball State Tuesday afternoon assuming Hyames Field is playable and weather permits.
Interesting factoid:

Only Ball State and Central have winning records both in conference play and overall.

Everyone else .500 or worse.

Broncos swept Saturday DH at Akron but lost Friday and Monday singles.

Now 6-8 MAC (eighth place), 8-19 overall.

Play a twilight night game at MSU Wednesday before hosting Miami (12-18, 8-10 MAC-sixth) this weekend.
