Otherwise known as the AState Invitational...

AState is up big in the Men's and has a decent sized lead in the Women's after Day 1. Looking forward to another year of collecting bubas cup points off Track.
Track School. It’s crazy how good they are.
Bout to sweep indoor for the 4th year in a row.

Don't get ahead of yourself, I know TXST Women won the title 2017 - 2019.

I think you’re right. It’s 2020-2022 for ASU. We’ve been dominating Outdoor as well as of late. Texas State did finish 2nd in both women’s and men’s today.
How many schools have Indoor track & Field facilities?

All 12 current members have an indoor track program, though not all sponsor it for both men and women.

In the Sun Belt, none.

Probably less than 50 in the US, and mostly P5 schools.

In Texas, only Tech, A&M, and UT have them.

Dent, I wondered this too since we just helped the Mt East hold theirs...Guessing APP gets the chanpionships for now, or they just own the sport?

You forgot about the University of Houston who hosts indoor meets almost every weekend including one weekend that featured your Bobcats.

Championships are held in Birmingham every year. SBC doesn't do on campus championships anymore outside of softball.

We have an indoor track facility.

Wow, then why haven't we ever had the SBC Indoor Championship there before ?

I guess we handed you the title. We had 3 first place finishes and 4 second our first eight years in the SBC. Now two fives in a row (out of 7).

A-State's BB Arena has the the ability to retract upstairs bleachers and host 3 BB games at once and reveal an indoor track on the upper level. We once hosted a national AAU event with all the studs and stud coaches because of this flexibility.

Historically A-State has been a pretty good track program. We have a street named Olympic Drive that leads from the main entrance through the athletic facilities.

It has a monument with our Olympic Medal winners - Earl Bell (Jonesboro), Al Joyner(East St. Louis and married to Flo Jo), and Thomas Hill (New Orleans and father of the Duke BB player of same name).

How many medal winners does everyone else have?

Also if you haven't see the two Steve Prefontaine movies they are both worth watching.
I love going to indoor track meets. There is always something going on and you can see it all from your seat. You don't miss anything.

You could actually play 5 games at once but there'd only be seating for the main floor. (Maybe a few of those small portable bleachers they use during the NEA Tourney)

I watched stAte practice while 3 games were going on during one of the NEA Tourneys.

Doug Russell is the only UTA medal as far as I can tell, winning gold twice in swimming in 1968. UTA had a swimming team back then.

We have others who have made finals, just not too 3.

I watched the Arkansas Wings practice while 3 other games were going on during one of the 17 and under National tournaments.
