Now taking bets... when will Russia invade Ukraine?
This week or they aren't doing it.
I'm going with this week as well. bobdizole has a good point and if it doesn't happen this week then I think Putin may have figured out a way to get part of what he wants, or at least save face, without invading.

And honestly I'm leaning more towards the not going to happen. Russia will destroy Ukraines army, but the longer they are given to prepare and for other countries to pump money and weapons in the bigger the price tag it's going cost Russia.

Putin will keep up the show to force the West to give him half of what he demands and probably 100% of what he really wants. 4D Chess with big brass balls to back it up

Great point about the money and weapons being pumped into Ukraine, that's a big part of my thinking it's this week or off. No question that Russia can defeat Ukraine but it's going to hurt, and Putin knows that every day Ukraine's capacity to punch back is growing. Lol by next week Germany may have sent 5,000 more helmets!

Think you're right too about Putin and his big brass cojones. KGB didn't spit out dummies and he is playing on a level far above the Western leaders he has faced in his tenure. We're probably better off that it didn't happen, but it sure would have been interesting to see Putin go up against Reagan & Thatcher.
Read on the news that Russia is having a meeting regarding a request to recognize separatist-held regions of Ukraine. Which I think one of the requests from Ukraine and NATO was not to recognize those regions... so its interesting that they are doing that.
When will then be now?
Last October is my vote. That’s the first time American and British media reported it could be “days away.”

I think this is how it will go down. The separatists will declare themselves independent, quickly invite the russian troops in, and Ukraine will just accept it like they did with Crimea because they can't possibly defeat Russia. No western European country is going to utilize force against Russia.
Wednesday.
I feel like they have been invading Ukraine for nearly 30 years now.
When palm trees grow in Siberia.

I just don't see it.

Now the indirect invasion that is going on in Donestsk and Luhansk will continue. Russia will continue to fund the mercenaries and will send in some of their own troops with their patches removed to allow plausible deniability, but I just don't see any open invasion. I just don't think Putin is as senile as Biden. It would be a bad, unnecessary move. Its inconsistent with Putin's earlier moves and has a lot of negative consequences their current policy doesn't with no real benefits. Ukraine is NOT going to get admitted to NATO, especially with Russia occupying openly Crimea and indirectly occupying eastern Ukraine.

Even with the Crimea they pretended it was indigenous even though it was organized, planned and funded by Russia. Of course there was a lot of indigenous support in Crimea as the region is mostly Russian ethnically.
At minimum he’s taking the eastern portion down to connect to the Crimea. Nothing the geezer in chief can do about it.
It's all a big distraction from the deepstate NATO.

"Squirrel! Over there!"

I doubt it happens.
Realignment always happens on a Tuesday.
According to the radio report I just heard, Putin is speaking right now and has apparently declared the separatist regions of Ukraine as "independent". I would assume the next step from this play book would be the requesting of Russian military assistance by the newly recognized "independent" separatist areas.
Putin declares the separatist as a free and independent state. So basically he will help them to be free from Ukraine.
Putin is basically justifying an invasion into Ukraine and having unilateral support from the Russian people.
He is speaking now. A bunch Lenin love, politics, etc....

What do the people of the eastern Ukrainian territory want?

To be apart of Russia or Ukraine?
