In today’s article: The Memphis Tigers men's basketball team is scheduled to make the trip to face the Tulane Green Wave in an American Athletic Conference contest on Wednesday, Feb. 8.  Journalism at its finest. For those who don’t get this, the game is tomorrow, Wednesday Feb. 9th at the FedEx Forum.
Sigh...

Remote Journalism...
My dad called them the Comical Appeal over a 1/4 century ago due to their writing and they were much better then than the haphazard slop they (and most media outlets) have become. I'm not surprised they can't get the details right, but at least they identified us as the correct team and in the right conference.

Damnit, now I have to turn around??
Not as bad as the Press Scimitar.

They went an entire season with the wrong record for a MISL team and that record was for Memphis..

Staff used to include an extra dog's name in the line up for the daily races at Southland and then remove it in the results.

the horror
Speaking of greyhounds, I have been killing it at the casino over there lately. Probably gonna sneak out of the office again for another “meeting” and head over there later this week.
Yea, Francisco Guzman got the date wrong, but I guess he could argue that technically they do get on a bus and make a trip to FedEx Forum. In todays journalism, 50% factually correct is about right.

I would have thought it much lower than 50%.

I heard they are closing the track down, or have already closed it down? I wonder if they'll still have para-mutual betting available.

Judging from what I've seen lately they don't have to be at all correct.

How is it "remote?"

Munz (the beat writer) and Barnes (the FB writer) and Mark G. all live here.

Is it a typo?

My dad still gets the hard copy which includes no weekend editions. Friday scores and weekend stories are available Monday. Maybe.

I understand that, but for those not living in the stone age, there is this thing called the internet and I really don't think it's a passing fad. One can get scores instantly--even on one of those cellular telephones.

I get the Sunday paper, mostly just because it grants me internet access and serves as a firestarter for the firepit.
