ESPN3 7pm vs 8-10 BSU.

What's this! BSU has a pure center! And he is a freshman! And he is their leading scorer! And their leading rebounder! Yes young 6'9" Mr. Sparks will probably continue his scoring against our Huskies. Their fourth leading scorer is 6'8" (Thomas) and he shoots the threes at .387% (29 for 75) along with guard Bumbalough .387% (49 for 128).
And we all remember # three scorer Tyler Cochran at 12.1 pts per game and 5.6 rebounds per game.

Lets go thru the common opponents; EIU- BSU beat them 75-55 @home NIU beat them 55-45 also @home, BGSU- BSU beat them 81-80 @home while NIU lost 83-92 @home, KSU- BSU lost to them 65-66 @home but our Huskies beat them 65-63 on the road, EMU- BSU beat them on the road 78-72 and the Huskies beat them 77-70 @home, TOL- Both BSU (70-83) and NIU (63-94) lost in Toledo.

Sagarin BSU 237 NIU 304
KenPom BSU 247 NIU 299
NET BSU 259 NIU 293

As someone mentioned in another thread it is basically a tossup game. If we can squeak this one out and then we will be favored against the Chips. If we can play like favorites we can get back to 4-4 in MAC play.

GO HUSKIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I know this is a weird question, but, what time do Convo doors open?

I MAY be in Dekalb around 4:30 pm. If I stay for the game -- do I have to tailgate in the lot for 2 hrs? Or, can I get in and enjoy some nice warm wieners on some hot steamy buns?
Doors open 1 hour before tip and not a second before. So 6 PM tonight. Fattys open so get oiled up there first

No wieners, but you can get a stale, rock-hard bun. Just tell them to stick it in the microwave for 20 minutes.

NIU 2 - Ball 12

Turning the ball over (a recurring problem), a moving screen (a recurring problem) and some missed shots (sometime a recurring problem).

Add it up, and we got what we've got.
Burno subbed out all 5 starters.

Now on the floor: Okanu, Kueth, Kon, Hunter, Russell.
Subbed all 5 starters. First possession a turn over

2nd possession. A Kueth 3PT.
Kueth heating up with another 3.

NIU 10 - Ball 18

BSU got a couple 3s. Otherwise, the 2nd line came in and upped the tempo and had cut the lead to 5 at one point.

Looks like Burno made another wholesale change coming up. I believe all the starters are back in.

NIU 15 - Ball 21

BSU has gotten sloppy and are fouling a lot (getting in to some foul trouble early).

With that said, NIU turning the ball over a lot too. Had committed 8 before the 10 minute mark. But the pressure D is making BSU uncomfortable. Just gotta cash in on FTs (easier said than done...) and knock down some 3s (I'm pretty sure Kueth has both makes from behind the arc).
BTW. Early in the game, the BSU bench complained about our 7 student fans and had them back up 7 inches for some reason.

NIU 23 - Ball 27
Halftime

NIU 27 - Ball 33
Leading Scorers:

NIU
Kueth - 10
Makuoi - 7
Hankerson - 5
Williams - 0 points on 0 for 3 shooting (this MUST change if NIU is going to win)

Ball State
Brown - 10
Cochran - 7
Sparks - 6

Ball State has 4 players with 2 fouls (Thomas, Sparks, Cochran, Pearson). For NIU, Okanu is the only one with 2.

Both teams have been sloppy with NIU committing 10 TOs and Ball State with 9.

NIUs 3PT shooting is ice cold (2 of 14 - Thornton 0-2, Williams 0-1, Hankerson 0-5, Kueth 2-5, Russell 0-1...this last one was a last second shot in the shot clock and the ball was just chucked over to him at the last second...he really didn't have much of a chance to make it).

If it wasn't for Kueth and Makuoi, we'd be losing by a ton right now.
Huskies take the lead

NIU 37 - Ball 36

NIU comes out hot. Williams with a quick 4, Hankerson a 3 and Makuoi pitched in a FT.

Sparks gets an early 3rd foul.
15:51

NIU 37 - Ball 37

Sparks and Thomas with 3 fouls each. Makuoi picked up 2 this half to get his 3rd (two of them have been on moving screens...he gets a TON of those).

Williams is on the line for 2 (after the time out), so NIU should be up 2 in a moment.

And, of course...he missed one of them...
And...Okanu just picked up his 3rd...
